16 years ago:

"Story time, mommy.", Annalisia smiled at her mother, as she crawled into her princess bed.

"Okay, what story do you want to hear, baby?", her mother said sweetly to her young daughter, as she tucked her in.

"The one about the mates, please."

"I tell you that one every night.", her mother chuckled.

"Please, I love it.", Annalisia pouted.

"Okay.", her mother smiled rolling her eyes, "Once upon a time there was a young girl named Tabitha and she was very beautiful, like you."

Annalisia giggled and snuggled into her covers.

"She knew what she wanted. She wanted love. So, whenever she encountered any werewolf boys she always shooed them away."

"Why, mommy?"

"She knew her mate was out there somewhere so she waited patiently."

"What's a mate again?", Annalisia asked knowing the answer, as she had heard this story every night.

"A mate is who the goddess of fate pairs you with."

"How do you know their your mate?"

"They will smell absolutely delightful and you will  feel so pulled towards them that it's as if you need them to survive. Once you touch them you'll feel sparks. It's a magical feeling.", her mother explained looking into space with a dreamy look plastered on her face.

"I can't wait to find my mate.", Annalisia sighed.

16 years later:

"Timmy, get that out of your mouth!", I screamed for the millionth time today.

Working at a daycare could sometimes really tire you out. No, let me rephrase that. It's always tiring. Don't get me wrong, I loved these pups, but repeating myself a million times day to not eat glue and to not bite can start to really take a toll. Though, it's my job.

"Hi, Anna."

"Hi, Sarah.", I smiled down at a tiny little girl as she had just been dropped off by her mother.

Sarah was a very tiny pup, but man could she  throw a punch when she was angry. Luckily, that didn't happen much. She was quite quiet and kept to her self.

"Love you Sarah", her mother said as she turned to me, "See you later Anna.", she smiled sweetly.

I smiled back as she walked out of the front door.

"Well that was last one to get dropped off.", I yelled over to my mother as she wiped glue off of Timmy' s hands, mouth, and everything basically.

"Okay, how about you take them outside for a bit,", she said as she cleaned an annoyed Timmy.

I nodded and turned to 10 children. We didn't have to many children considering it was more normal for one parent to stay home in this pack, but ocassionaly parents needed a little help.

"Let's go outside!", I yelled smiling.

Their faces instantly got a thousand times brighter as they all ran towards the back door.

Okay, let's see how many try to eat dirt today.

~~~
"Gosh, this couch feels amazing.", my mother said sprawled out on the couch.
We had just got home from the daycare and I couldn't agree more as I also sat on the couch.
"Why did I start a daycare again?", my mother groaned.
"Because children are amazing or something like that", I smiled at my mother.
My mother was the best. Nobody else could take care of a daycare like she did. I did my best, but she was natural at it, obviously.
As she opened her mouth the door bell rang and I automatically groaned.
I knew who it was and I was not in the mood.
"Maybe if I ignore it he will go away?", I whispered to my mother.
"That never works, but sure okay."
It was Flyn, I knew it was. He has been trying to convince me that I was his mate since I was 9 years old. Of course when I was younger I wanted to believe it. So, we dated on and off. Though, he just wouldn't get it through his brain that it wasn't going to happen after we found out we were not mates.
I wanted my real mate. I had been dreaming of my mate since I was a little girl. I knew he'd be gorgeous and magnificent. He'd want me instantly and I'd want him. I'd need him and he'd need me, you know?
I slowly got up and turned to my mother, "I'm gonna go do some art. Deal with him? Ignore him? Whatever you think is best."
"Oh, don't let me choose, Anna", my mother smirked.
I chuckled under my breathe and went towards the back door. I grabbed the bag that had my art supplies in it and walked out the back door towards the woods.
This is how I dealt with everything. I would go deep into the woods to a spot where it was pretty empty and I would draw. It was a perfect little world, honestly. it was right at the borders of our pack, The Silver Leaf Pack. On the other side was our neighbors, The Crescent Fate Pack. We weren't buddies per say, but we also didn't hate each other. We had bad blood back in the past, but had dealt with it once their Alpha took the place of his father six years ago. Let's just say there wasn't good rumors about his father at all.
I went behind a tree real fast and stripped out of my clothing and quickly put it in the bag. I shifted into my wolf and stretched my legs out a bit. My wolf immediately sighed out in peace as I grabbed the bag in my mouth and took off further into the woods.
The air glided through my soft grey fur and I flew with each stride. My wolf was practically purring at the fact that I was letting her run finally. She was over joyed after having to also deal with pups all day.
After awhile of running, I finally approached my spot. I went behind a tree and shifted in my human form. I put on my clothes and then grabbed my art supplies out of my bag as I sat down against a large rock.
I held my sketchbook in my hand as I held my pencil up to my chin and tapped against my chin. What should I draw?
I thought about it as the soft wind flew through my brunette locks. I decided to open up my sketchbook to look through old drawings to hopefully get some inspiration.
As I flipped through my sketchbook, the wind got stronger and I passed by a page that had a paper that was barely hanging on. As the wind got even stronger it took the paper with it and it flew over the border into The Crescent Fate Pack.
I groaned and put my things down. I slowly got up and questioned if I should pass over or not. Mean it was only a piece of paper. It's not like I'm a rogue. It will only take a moment. Though, then again, it is only a drawing and I'm not exactly attached to that specific doodle. Oh, whatever I'm getting it.
As I slowly walked across the border I mentally yelled at myself for not taking care of my things better. When I got right near the paper, I went to bend down to get it and thats when something knocked into me so hard that the sun somehow turned off. I didn't know that was possible. Just kidding, I got knocked out.
