Began With A Photo

I walked out of the store, my nice bottle of red wine tucked safely under my arm. I couldn't wait to go home and pour myself a glass.

Just like always, I would be drinking alone. Thus was the story most nights since my girlfriend cheated on me and then dumped me on Valentine's day earlier this year.

I heaved a sigh and clicked my lock button on my car fob, attempting to find it among the other vehicles.

I heard it beep, and I shielded my eyes against the hot summer sun, trying to see it against the glare of metal.

After wandering for a minute I found it. And right next to it, was parked the most beautiful motorcycle I'd ever seen.

It was a deep blue with ghost flames on the front and shiny chrome... Everything. Every piece of metal on this bike was shined to perfection and glinted  in he sunlight.

I whistled. "Well hello here, you pretty piece of machinery." I whispered, and set my wine down on the concrete.

I crouched next to the motorcycle and caressed the leather seat. "Who ever owns you, is a lucky man." It was a kawasaki ninja 300. Just about one of the best bikes ever.

I took out my phone and snapped a couple photos; some of just the bike, and some with me next to the bike.

"Those pictures are going to cost you." A voice called from a few feet away.

I startled and almost dropped my phone. Doing that, is definitely something I never do. I consider myself a strong person. I mean, im ripped, I've got a strong personality, I'm tall, and hardly ever scare easily. But this person had snuck up on me when I wasn't expecting it.

Flustered, I looked in the direction the voice came from, and almost forgot to breathe.

Only a few feet away, standing with her arms crossed over her chest, stood a beautiful woman.

"I- uh-" My voice failed to work.

She smiled with those full lips, and showed perfectly white teeth, contrasting nicely against her tanned skin. A small laugh escaped her mouth and she uncrossed her arms, striding easily over to me. She was wearing a black leather jacket with it unzipped and dark pants. Under she jacket she wore a dark blue v-neck top- the same color as her bike.

"If you hadn't already guessed, that's my bike. " She glanced at it, a slight smile playing on her lips. I realized then, that I loved her smile and wanted to see it more.

"Uh yeah, I guess so." I said stupidly, and scratched the back of my head, embarrassed as I stood.

She laughed again, that soft and musical laugh.

I found myself at a total loss for words, something that usually does not happen.

"So ,uh, what do I owe you?"

Her eyes glinted mischievously. "Well, let's get one thing set straight; are you currently in a relationship?"

I felt a prick of pain shoot through my heart. "No." I did quietly. "Haven't since Valentine's day when my girlfriend dumped me."

Sadness and sympathy was evident on her face. "I'm sorry." She was quiet for only a second before adding, "But that makes your payment easier though."

I was smiling and curious now. "How so?"

She looked me right in the eyes. "I want a kiss for my payment."

To say that I was surprised is an understatement. I was literally taken aback.

"What?" I asked, thinking I hadn't heard her correctly.

She smiled again. "I want a kiss. Or is that too much to ask of you?"

I felt my own smile tugging at the corners of my mouth. "Not at all."

She came to me slowly, teasingly. She ran her hands up my abs and laced her fingers behind my neck. I ran my hands under her jacket and around her waist. I looked into her eyes and was amazed by the wonder and- what was it? Curiosity? Maturity? Beauty? I'm not sure, but whatever it was, I loved it.

Without waiting any longer, I closed the distance between our lips.

Fireworks erupted in my mind's eye. I'm not saying this just because I'm kissing a beautiful woman I just met outside in a parking lot, but it was the best kiss I'd ever had.

Ever.

Just the way our lips worked in sync, the way her mouth was soft and tasted sweet, the way she was so bold, made me feel that this was meant to be.

Made me feel like I had just met my soul mate.

We finially separated, but not very much. Our foreheads were together and our breaths mingled in the warm air.

"Please tell me you felt it too." I whispered, tightening my grip on her waist for only a second before I opened my eyes and looked at her.

"Oh, I felt it." She whispered back, and looked at me through her dark, thick lashes. "Please tell me you're drinking alone tonight."

Through a haze, I remembered the red wine at my feet. "Yes, but I don't want to."

"I think I can remedy that."
