(NO ONE'S POV)
Eliza and Alex are having a 'business' dinner at their house with Thomas, and Thomas invited his girlfriend Angie. (Idek I saw something on Instagram that gave me an idea...) Lots of stuff will happen... and business will barely happen... just Alex and Thomas pissing each other off.
(ALEX'S POV)
"Do we even have to do this Eli? Can't we just cancel it?" I pleaded. Anything to get me out of seeing Macaroni Fucker™.
"Yes, Alex, we have to do this. You guys need to sort out that project Washington gave you for work. Plus, we're seeing Angie. Everyone loves Angie." Eliza always knows how to make me calm, and right now, she wasn't doing a good job, but she had a point.
"I don't even see why Angie's going out with that shitbag." I grumbled. Eliza rolled her eyes at me, when the doorbell rang. "There they are. Let's go." She smiled at me. "Try to seem happy? For me?" I sighed. "Fine. For you." I forced a smile onto my face, and we walked to the door.
Eliza opened the door and immediately hugged Angie. "Hey Angie!!" She squealed. Angie let out a laugh. "Hey Liza." She grinned, then winced lightly. "Yknow I love you, but I still need to breath." Eliza pulled away and laughed. "Whoopsie."
Thomas and I were both watching them, and when they were done, we turned our gazes to each other. "Jefferson." I said through clenched teeth. "Hamilton." He said with the same amount of care, which is zero.
Eliza and Angie exchanged looks and Angie wrapped her arm around Thomas'. "Come in." Eliza said, smiling warmly at them, and we stepped aside. "It's great to see you again, Thomas."
"As with you, Ms. Schuyler, and may I add how lovely you look today." He said, smiling at her. I clenched my teeth and Eliza laughed. "Why thank you." Thomas eyed me with a mischievous look in his eyes. Hmph, well, two can play this game.
"Angie, its great to see you, you look terrific, as always." I said, throwing her a charming smile. "Aww, you flatter me, Alex." She laughed and hugged me. "It's nice to see you too." She pulled away. Thomas glared at me, and I felt satisfaction fill up in me.
"Uh, dinner is just about ready, you guys can go sit down." Eliza said, obviously trying to clear the tension. "I'll come help you, Liza." Angie spoke up. "Uh... I'd love that Ange, but..." she whispered something in her ear. (It was something like "you need to babysit these fuckers".) Angie rolled her eyes. "Fine."
Eliza walked into the kitchen and I led Thomas and Angie into the dining room. Thomas had his arm around Angie's waist and was whispering things in her ear. She laughed quietly and kissed him on the cheek.
I clenched my teeth. How dare they!??!?! This was my home!?!?!? No, I am NOT overreacting!!!! This is unexceptionable!!! "Jefferson, let me take your coat. I'll hang it up in the closet." I said, faking a smile. He eyed me suspiciously, then took off his jacket and handed it to me. "Okay... at least it'll give me some alone time with my favorite girl." He kissed Angie's neck once. She giggled, her face pink. "Oh stop it."
That was the last straw. I went outside and put Thomas' jacket into the garbage can. And just to be safe, I set it on fire.
I came back in and saw Angie and Thomas sitting down next to each other, hand in hand. Ok, harmless, that's harmless... Still don't trust him.
I sat down across from them just as Eliza came in with the food. She sat down next to me and started up a conversation with Angie. I saw that their hands were both still under the table, so they must be still holding hands.
We start eating, and a few minutes in, I dropped my fork. I scooted my chair back and bend down to pick it up. I glance up while I'm still down, and I see Thomas' hand pretty high up Angie's thigh.
I clench my teeth, and as soon as I come back up, I start coughing. "Oh! Alex! Are you okay? Let's go get you some water." Eliza stood up and grabbed my hand, pulling me up as well. We go into the kitchen and she pours me some water.
She hands me the water, looking me in the eyes. "Alex, can you please stay calm? At least for tonight. On Monday, when you go back to work, you can fight with Thomas all you want... but for tonight, please just stay calm? Angie really loves him and I want her to be happy, don't you?"
I stay silent for a moment. "Of course I want her to be happy... and okay. Fine. I'll be nice to Jefferson just for tonight." Eliza smiled and pecked me on the lips. "Love you Lex."
"Love you too Eli." I said, smiling at her. She smiled back. "I'm going to go use the restroom really quick, then I'll be back. Remember what I said. Stay calm." She said, and walked into the bathroom.
I stood there for a moment, and then I walked back into the dining room. What I saw horrified me.
No.
What I saw enraged me, yeah that's a better word.
What I saw, was Angie straddling Thomas' lap, and them making out. Like full on making out.
It disgusted me.
I walked back into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine that was practically empty. I walk back in, and they're still going at it. I cough loudly. I see Angie pull away, her face red. "Oh! Alex- I uh- we- uh- yeah-" she said, sitting back in her seat.
Thomas turned his head back a bit and I saw a devilish smirk. I clenched my teeth and walked over to him. I raised the wine glass and
accidentally
dropped it onto his head.
"Hamilton whAT THE FUCK-" Thomas shouted and stood up, the smirk completely washed away.
I sat back down calmly, Angie looking at Thomas, trying not to laugh, at the same time trying to calm him down.
Eliza walked in and saw a smug looking me, and an angered Thomas. She scoffed and sat down. "What happened this time?" She asked.
"YOUR SORRY EXCUSE FOR A BOYFRIEND JUST DROPPED THE WINE BOTTLE ON ME." Thomas shouted. Eliza looked at me, sternly, but I could see that deep down she was amused.
"Alex, how rude of you." She said sternly, but she flashed me a small smile when she looked at me. I grinned and finished my food.
After dinner we talked and argued a bit more, then Eliza and I walked Angie and Thomas to the door. "It was lovely having you over." Eliza said, smiling at Angie and Thomas. "Right Alex?" She subtly elbowed me in the ribs. "Oh, uh, right, yeah." I lied.
"Well we should be going now. Thank you Eliza. Thanks Alex. We'll see you soon." Angie said with a smile. Thomas gave us a tight smile and walked out with Angie, hand on hand.
Eliza closed the door calmly and looked at me.
"Well that was a shitty dinner."
