Making The Right Choice Again

About three weeks later

I had only one thing in mind at this exact moment, Chris needed to pay. I kept myself quiet until I could finally see him as hurt as I was. How stupid was I to choose him? I kept repeating myself even if I clearly knew I still had feelings for him. The whole situation was complicated and gave me an headache. I woke up in the morning with a feel of nausea as I joined Aubrey in the kitchen after dressing up. He sat there, eating his breakfast as I took a plate of pancakes.
"Did you find an excuse already?
- Yeah, I told Chris I spend the night at Melissa's house. He's going on Tour in about two weeks anyway.
- Okay, when are you going to leave him?
- Give me more time."
I got annoyed by his question even if I felt guilty to keep doing two-timing. Aubrey was a sweet man and he didn't deserve what I was doing to him, knowing I would maybe never leave Chris.
It made me sigh just to think about my feelings towards the man who hurt me and lied to me but it was life. Shit happens, I thought to myself before grabbing my purse and stepping to my car.
It didn't take me long to get back to our house as I found Chris watching TV in the livingroom. His face lighted up as soon as he saw me standing by the door. I approached him and leaned down to give him a kiss before he pulled me down to make me lay by his side.
It was nice to be by his side but it was making me realize how much better I felt cuddling with Aubrey than Chris. The feeling was strange but it seemed like something had changed between us two.
It just made me think about all the shit he did to me as I felt the anger come up, I had to confront him.
"Chris..!
- What's up? You seem upset.
- Hell yeah, I'm upset. I've seen you kissing another woman, I guess she's Karrueche.
- Robyn..
- I don't need your wack apologizes. You cheated on me, knowing I would be hurt.
- Babe, I don't know what to tell you.
- You don't have to tell me anything!"
I yelled out as tears kept streaming down my cheeks which he tried to wipe off.
"I..I think it's over."
My hands shook as I pronounced those words. He didn't answer anything but watched me leave the house, not knowing what else to do. As I drove off the house, the first that came to my mind was having Aubrey by my side.
I pulled into his driveway and noticed light coming from the livingroom, he might be home. I thought to myself before stepping up to the door. It didn't take him long before opening the door as I could finally see his face but I quickly realized he had friends over.
"Are you alone?
- I got some friends over but what are you doing here?
- I..I left Chris."
The sentence made my heart break as I bursted into tears which Aubry hug me once again. His hug was gentle and brought a smile to my face as he let me in.
"Robyn came over."
Aubrey announced the guys in the livingroom as they looked up at us.
"Hi, guys.
- Hi, well, I guess we are going to leave you two alone."
Aubrey walked them to the door before joining me back inside the livingroom. We both stayed up as he tried to comfort me until I finally fell asleep of exhaustion.

Next Day

My sickness didn't go as I thought it would, the nausea was getting stronger which made me wake up around 6 am. After quickly making my way to the toilets and throwing up, I grabbed my phone out of my purse. I had a couple of texts and about 10 missed calls from Chris.
I didn't look or hear anything he send me, I was still mad at him. I made the right choice by leaving him. Well, that's what I thought because deep inside, I was still in love.
As I tortued myself, thinking about Chris, I felt Aubrey moving in bed next to me. He was starting to wake up as I pulled myself off bed to make breakfast for the two of us.
Cooking was nice, I made ourselves pancakes until I felt Aubrey moving behind me. He pressed his lips against my neck while his hands caressed my hips.
"What are you going to do, today?"
Aubrey asked, pulling out of me to sit down around the table.
"Well, I was thinking about watching movies and chilling.
- Sounds good to me, let's go out after.
- Do you have an idea where?
- Sure, what about Nicki's party.
- Yeah, why not."
Both me and him finished up our breakfast before he had to leave the house for work. I started off by cleaning the kitchen in which I've made a mess before watching TV in the livingroom. My morning went nice, being alone wasn't as boring as I thought it would be. It actually helped me understand a couple of things. I couldn't deny that I felt like Chris was the one to me and I knew he would be back together soon but I didn't forget everything he has done to me.
At lunch time, I fixed myself a plate as my nausea came back once again, I started to worry but I was way too lazy to get to the doctor. By the end of afternoon, I came up the stairs to dress up as I choose to wear a simple but nice black dress.
"You look gorgeous."
Aubrey scared me as I turned to see him standing by the door.
"Thank you."
I gathered my things before following Aubrey down to his car parked in the driveway. It didn't take us long to arrive to the party as we walked inside and I spotted Nicki, looking stunning.
"What's new?
- Nothing, same old. What about you?
- Nothing much.
- Is that a lie? Why did you come with Aubrey then?
- He's my friend.
- Oh and Chris isn't jealous?
- My relationship with him is officially over.
- Oh, that's bad news for you then because he's here.
- What do you mean?
- Chris is at the party.
- Oh, shit. I need to leave then. I don't want to see him.
- Okay, fine. Follow me."
I followed Nicki to the kitchen but I knew it was too late when I saw Chris coming into my way. Nicki gave me a sorry look and I asked her to leave us two alone so we could have a talk.
"What are you doing here?
- We need to talk.
- No, I'm totally fine with the way things are. I was about to leave anyway.
- I love you, Robyn.
- I know it but you've cheated and it's something I can't accept."
I was about to leave as I felt his hand strongly gripping on mine. What the fuck was he doing? Nicki was alarmed by the violence in his move and told Dwayne to do something.
It didn't take him long before reaching the two of us.
"What's going on?
- We were having a talk.
- Okay, can you leave Robyn alone then?
- No because I have to talk to her so can you mind your business?
- Robyn, are you okay?
- Not really, I wanna go back home."
Dwayne nodded his head before making Chris stop grabbing my arm and leading me to Aubrey.
I didn't tell him what happened, he didn't need to know. I sat in his car before he drove us back home.
I just had the time to get into bed when Chris came to ring at Aubrey's door and I came down to open him.
"Chris, what do you want?
- I need to talk to you.
- Ugh, fine. How did you know I was staying there?
- Well, just had to look on the internet.
- What did you want to tell me?
- I left Karrueche, I admit it, you didn't deserve what I've done to you and I'm truly sorry. Would you forgive me?
- I will have to think about it."
He seemed to understand as he nodded his head before leaving the house.
