The Lean In

The car was full and I was squashed into the middle back. My legs were against my chest, my arms around my knees. Half-asleep on a country mountain, with you sitting squashed next to me. 

The music plays soft and slow, the night air caresses my face. I'm so conscious of every part of me that touches every part of you. 

But then.

I lean my head back, my eyes go slowly shut. 

Several hours later I wake up in your arms.
