What About The Creatures of The Dark

Elisa enters

"3:00 in the morning? Why am I awake? I could've sworn I heard screaming!"

Elisa's parents scream,"Elisa! Call the police!" Elisa calls and the operator picks up,"911 what's your emergency?" All of a sudden, the line disconnects. Elisa whispers, "Hello? Hello?" She hears a man's voice as he whispers, "Elisa, Elisa, where is little Elisa?" She questions, "Dad? Is that you?" In a panic her dad responds, "Elisa? Elisa ran! Get out of the house and run as fast as you can!" Three loud gunshots fire off in the other room. Elisa screams, "Mom? Dad? Are you there?" There is no response. Elisa frantically starts looking around. Her parents gave her a box for emergencies. She figured this definitely qualified as an emergency. She comes upon a note. It looked worn. Elisa opened the note and began to read. The note said:

Dear Elisa,

If you are reading this, that means we are dead. I know this is scary but it is very important that you find your birth parents. You have to go, go and find your birth parents and they will know what to do. They know all about The Creatures of the dark...We love you Elisa.

Elisa finds a picture inside the note. She sets off on foot to go find her parents; she has to be careful of what lies beyond the trees of her hometown, Nightdreams, Virginia. What Elisa doesn't know about are the creatures that lurk in the shadows, waiting for the lights to go out so people can be stolen into the darkness. These are the creatures of the dark.

The wind is howling. Animals lurk in the woods around her. It's dark. Elisa doesn't know how to find her birth parents. All she has is an old picture her parents left her and a town on the back of it. It read Tombstone, VA. Elisa kept a steady pace as she walked down the dark wooded street. She did not want the man who killed her parents to catch her too. Afraid of what's to come Elisa runs to the lit shack off in the distance. It was old and looked abandoned but there was a shadow of someone inside. She hurried to the house and began banging on the door. "Hello?" She yelled. "Is there anyone in there?" A faint voice tells her to go away. "Please I need help," she says. The door creaks open. A boy, slender, and tall with pale skin stands in the doorway peering down at Elisa. Without question, he lets Elisa inside.
