The sun had set. It was that time of the year again. The time where the city breaks out in terror and criminal activity. It is always scary to know that anyone can kill me without any worry about the repercussions. They know that no one has to stop them. I'll never know why this happens every year, I was born into it. I just hope that one year it will end.

CRASH! What was that! I think someone just broke into my window. I am not safe in my house anymore, time to get defensive. I start to crawl towards my back door trying to stay low and stay silent so I am not heard. I should see where that person is just to see if I should be worried about them or not. It could have just been a kid looking for cover. I am at the door behind my kitchen counter, might as well peek... AH! They are right across from me and we locked eyes. I do not even know who it was but all I saw was a big guy with a sharp knife and blood on him, as he has already killed before.

I pushed open my backdoor and ran outside, hearing the man following me hastily. I dart towards my tool shed in my yard hoping I don't get caught by the maniac behind me, before I get my defence. I jump through the open door way of my shed with the man catching up fast. I reach onto my safe draw, it has everything I need encase an emergence occurs on this day. Health packs, food, and a handgun to defend myself if this ever happened.

I grab the handgun and aim it at the guy who just entered through the doorway. He stops for a second, then grins and charges at me but I got the shot straight in the forehead. He fell to the ground creating a puddle of blood from his shot wound. I feel no remorse for this killer's death but am upset to know that I have participated in this annual day. I don't care. Death came too close this time. I have to leave the city, cross the walls and just leave. It is way too dangerous to wait it out. Who knows if someone else will come running at me.

I reload my handgun and grab all the ammo I can and shove them in my pockets. I have to go before some psycho in this town kills me. There are people who commit crimes have no care about what they are doing or who they are hurting. Then there are ones who are scared just try to hide until it's all over. I am the one who runs away from this place at any means possible.

I start my journey by jumping over the fence to my neighbours. From the screams I heard before I know that Mr. Treburg had died but his dog is nowhere to be seen. I start to look through his house to see what I can get but the place is destroyed. Nothing left but broken furniture. I knew my neighbour well, at least I have been in is house a few times. He had a peaceful life living by himself, just him and his dog. I know that he has a moneybox under the bed so that is where I go now. I pull the box out and grab whatever cash is left; I could need to help me on by travel. I notice a smell coming from the bathroom and I wish I never looked. The dog was nailed on the mirror. The horror of how disturbing the image is in my head is indescribable. The sick people who kill will live on without punishment. That is the most upsetting thing in my head.

I break through the locked door to Mr. Treburg's garage to get his motorbike; he was young kid around 24 so he kept in good working manner. I would take my car but it is in the shop to get my tail light fixed. I hop on his bike and start making for the next city before the day nears the end because the criminals will be more likely to hurt others when their fun day is going to finish. The bike is beeping. I look at the petrol metre and at is close to empty, I have to visit a service station before I run out of gas.

I ride to the nearest station nearby which is down the road and park in front of a pump. I grab the hose and wait for the metre to fill. All of a sudden, I see a woman running up and shotting. I duck behind the petrol pump and get my handgun ready. Shots are being fired my but none hit me. I look over the side of the pump and shoot my handgun at her but it missed. She has a semi-automatic gun so it is going to be hard to get a good shot but I go for it and I hit her chest. She falls to the ground in pain but dies before I could get to her. I grab her gun and anything she had in her backpack which had a whole bunch of magazines stored for her gun and that is it. I disregard the thought of what she had been doing before or planning to do and take the bag and gun with me and walk back to my bike to ride off. I jump on start riding off to the next city.
