I pulled my sneakers on and sprinted out into the dusty scrubland; before Rose had gone, running had been my only escape but now it just reminded me of her. As my feet pounded on the compacted sandr the voices filled me head again. "Rose, Rose, Rose," they taunted me and me only comfort was that I knew this would be the last time my guilt would be able to control me. Finally I reached the edge of the cliff and headed the turbulent thundering of the waves. As the voices reached a screeching climax I launched myself off the edge of the abyss and drowned out the voices forever.
