Dear Diary,

I don't think it should be like this. I don't think I should come home and have to feel like this, I don't think anyone should. They blame me, but I honestly don't see what I did wrong. They say I provoke in the was that I talk to him and in the way, I behave around him. But what they don't understand is that it's the exact opposite. He provokes me, I'll admit that there are many times when I do things that are disrespectful but do they warrant that type of response? Isn't he supposed to be my protector? I didn't he would be the one that I would have to protect myself from. And my mother isn't much help. She loves him. But should that be the reason for my 'suffrage' why should she choose his side? Doesn't she love me too? I try, I do. But I don't think they notice. I do my best. But I'm only human, and I'm still young, don't they know I'm hurting, can't they see what this is doing to me. I don't even get the chance to apologize for my actions, and yet they claim I'm unapologetic. When I do get the chance, they don't want to listen to what I have to say. They wonder why I spend so much time locked away in my room reading, writing and listening to music, they think I prefer to be alone, but I don't. I hate it. They say I need to be more active in the family, that I need to spend more time with them, but that's the last thing I need. What I need is space. What I need is a place where I can go to be by myself, without the possibility of human contact. I need a place that's mine and mine alone. And I need someone, someone I can depend on. Someone who isn't gonna make fun of me for having feelings. But I don't have either of those things. I have this, this journal is all I have. The only place where I am free to be my true self, not the person that everyone else needs or expects me to be. I don't know how much longer I can take this.
