Uncharted with One Direction (Zayn Malik)

Chapter 2.

I woke up wet. I was in the sand and I spit up all of the water that filled my lungs as soon as pressure left my lips.

Someone performed mouth to mouth on me. I say up and opened my eyes.

I saw black spots and blurry figures standing above me.

Actually four were standing; one was kneeling to my left, five total.

The sun was up now but still nobody was in sight. I fell backwards down onto the sand slightly dizzy.

I almost died.

If they didn't dive, whoever they were, I would be lying on the sea floor right now.

I opened my eyes; the spots were fading until gone. I took a deep breath and sat up all the way.

"Whoa take it easy there mate!" someone handing said. I looked up and realized they were all boys.

Strange.

The boy who spoke had a sleek face with hair that resembled Justin Bieber.

"I'm fine." I said standing up.

The boy who was kneeing was soaked to the bone and his hair flew in different strange directions. He was pretty tall but not too tall.

He had light brown hair and beautiful crystal blue eyes that looked like the sea.

I looked at the other three boys.

One was blond and had and oval face.

Another had dark, dark hair and tannish skin as if he were from the Middle East. He had piercings’ in both ears.

The last boy was drenched too and he had a towel put around him. He had curly brown hair and cheeky face.

"Who are you?" I muttered looking at each of them.

"Liam." the Justin Bieber hair clone said.

"Niall." the blonde said.

"Zayn." the pierced guy spoke. I liked his name Zayn. Cute.

"Harry." Curly said. He smiled at me and it exposed his dimples.

I looked at the last boy who had been kneeling. I raised an eyebrow at him waiting for an answer.

He just stared at me his mouth slightly open. His eyes roaming my body.

Liam nudged his exposed ribs.

He boy cleared his throat looking down. He looking back up when he said "I-I'm L-Louis." he said stuttering.

We stood there for a few moments in awkward silence

"Which one of you tried to drown me?" I asked crossing my arms over my bikini covered chest.

I looked at Niall, he was looking away anywhere but my face.

Liam was looking down at his foot drawing swirls in the sand.

Zayn was scratching the back of his head and cracking his neck.

When I looked at Louis I saw that he was still staring at me. I shifter my weight into my left foot and looked at Harry.

He gave me an apologetic look and raised his hands.

"I'm sorry I was swimming and I guess we didn't see each other and I was going pretty fast and well yeah we rammed into each other. Did.....did I do that to you?" he said coming to take off his towel. He put it around my shoulders doing a quick look over of my body.

"Actually no I did this to myself when I was at the bottom of the sea bed. Yes I took time out of me drowning to cut my face......but honestly, yes you did his to me." I said calmly yet sarcastically.

Harry broke out into a smile as well as the other four.

"I'm sorry..." Harry started not knowing my name.

"Avery Noah."

"I'm so sorry Ave let me help you." Harry smiled at me taking a step forward.

"Yeah like the last thing I need is some stranger helping me. If you can't tell I'm a big girl I can take care of myself." Harry stuck up his hands surrendering while Zayn and Liam laughed at his rejection.

Louis grabbed a piece of the towel and whipped my face.

Blood was on it.

I touched my face and said "Oops."

At that moment Jake strolled down the beach with a confused look on his face. The boys turned around to look at Jake.

They turned back to me and simultaneously said "Bye!" and they ran off.

"Bye boys!" I called out to them. Louis turned around still running, smiled, and then waved. I smiled and waved back at him.

"What was that about?!" Jake asked as jealousy leaked into his voice.

"Dude you need to chill out okay?" he looked after them shaking his head.

"You know who they are right?" he asked.

"Let me guess your secret lovers that you keep hidden under your bed?" he rolled his eyes at me.

"No! Their One Direction." I scrunched my eyebrows.

"Who?"

"They were on the X Factor. Their faces cover every girl’s room everywhere in the world. Ring a bell?"

"So they aren't your hidden lovers?" he sighed loudly.

"No Avery I'm not in love with them but Mia is though." Mia is his little 15 year old sister.

"Okay it's not like I go into her room every day. Sorry mate." he rolled his eyes again at me something he does often. He walked off hoping I would follow.

I picked up my clothes and followed him to the life guard shack. The day started off slow but soon picked up.

I kept thinking about the boys. One Direction. Why haven't I ever heard of them before?

Maybe it was because I stayed away from gossip shows or the news. Maybe it was because I tried to avoid people other than my close family and small group of friends. Jake was the exception.

The day went on and I couldn't get them out of my head.

Louis was the most thought of, for now. The way he smiled, the way his gorgeous blue eyes looked into my green ones.

Please Avery get a hold of yourself! You're not going to see them again and besides your life is busy enough.

They probably just felt sorry that they hurt you.

Probably.

I brushed them off and turned on the radio.

"Now aging the new hit single 'What makes you beautiful'."

I listened to the song and started humming the music. I have to admit it was catchy and the voices were great.

The announcer came back on with news that surprised me.

"That was 'What makes you beautiful' by our very own One Direction."

I gasped. Now I've heard them. Now I understood.

My thoughts were interrupted by Jake coming towards the shack.

"Hello listen I've got to go my flight leaves in an hour. The ticket for you is on the table at home. Pack light. I'll see you in a day or two."

He kissed my forehead and ran his fingers over my three swollen cuts that Harry gave me.

I'd bet anything they'd turn into scars now.

One Direction left their mark on me.
