I'm not really sure how to write a novel. Or a book of any kind, really. But as I sit here, bumping along in the back seat of my brother's old SUV as we travel some dirt road in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night, it kind of occurs to me that our stories might need to be written down.
Let me tell you now, we're not ordinary people. We didn't grow up ordinary, we didn't do ordinary things, and we certainly didn't have ordinary jobs. We didn't have ordinary anything, by any standard. Except, well, ours.
And personally, I think my story's the least ordinary of them all.
And with that, we may as well jump right in.
