It was the late 1700's. The Caribbeans, owned and apart of England at the time, the town was bustling by the ocean side.
The usual Saturday afternoon, the sun was out, shining down onto the town, boys running around, shop keepers moving in and out of their shops, keeping the day moving on.
"Aye! Hurry up boy!", A man called out, seeming to struggle as the tips of his rusted looking fingers dug into the wooden crates he was carrying.
"I'm coming! Hold on!", A boy rang out, he attempted to run to him, but was difficult, for he was carrying crates as well. He seemed to be in his late teens, unbrushed light brown hair that stuck out over his dull green eyes, that showed much annoyance.
"These things'r fuckin heavy!! Why'd you make me carry these?!", The boy demanded as he huffed, sweat running down the sides of his forehead as he narrowed his gaze down to the ground.
"Money! We get these to tha' docks and we're free for the day! How does that sound?" The man told him.
"Sounds better that what's happening now!" The boy replied.
The man let out an amused laugh, his aging eyes stared down at him
"Come along son!" He turned and shifted his weight and began heading down to the ports.
The boy followed behind him, grunting here and there from how heavy the crates were.
What the hell were even in these??
He ignored the thought, he was pretty weak, but stubborn.
His arms grew a bit weak as he struggled to keep them up.
The eventually got down to the docks, a bunch of stock ships were there, men yelling out and hauling things to and from the ships.
The boy let out a deep exhale, hating this burning heat as he dropped the crates down with a thud.
The man heard and glances over toward him, "Eye! Easy now!" He said, cracking a slight grin in amusement.
The boy rolled his eyes and looked away, not in the mood. As he turned away, he was distracted by a voice,
"Well if it isn't ol' Jami himself!" Bellowed out a man, around his 30s, his loud boots clanked as he walked over to Jami with a gleaming grin.
Jami stopped and sluggishly looked over toward him as the man walked over.
"Ah. Hey David" He replied, seeming out of breath, this heat was truly unbearable. How were these men able to handle this?
The man walks over and slapped Jami seemingly hard, on his upper back.
The man gave him a grin "My, ya've gotten much older huh?"
Jami shrugged.
"And ya'r sweatin like a pig as well!" He laughed out and Jami exhales a loud sigh and reaches and tried to wipe the sweat from his forehead
"Ya well, it's the heat"
"By god it is!" The man stood up straight and seemed to look over toward the working men
"We work hard out here for what we do! To keep our town thriving!"
The man moved his gaze over toward Jami, who was tiredly sitting on the docks, nearly going to fall into the water below him, but he didn't seem to care, the heat was practically draining all the energy he had.
"Get used to it boy! Your going to do the same thing your old father does!" The man let out.
Wonderful. Jami thought. Let's hope the heat isn't like this.

The sun was setting over the crystallized looking ocean, a magnificent sight it was, the waves rolling in and out of the bank, the sky a orange mixed with a velvet, making the ocean thrive with a hellish beauty.
Jami, finally cool, since the sun had set, was hanging outside his home, sitting on a wooden stool, hunched forward a bit as he ate a fresh piece of bread his father had made.
They lived in a small content home, it wasn't much, but it was enough for him.
Jami gazed out into the ocean, seeming lost in it, the docks were now empty, not a person in sight, everything was done with for today and everyone was heading either home for the night, or out to the pubs.
Jami sighed out and finished what he called dinner, and leans his aching body back against the house, his head leaning back.
He was exhausted, closing his eyes, just wanting to sleep, he dozed off there, dreaming he was atop of the ocean, the ruler possibly.
Everyone believed the Ocean was controlled by some god, keeping everything at piece.
Everyone thought so, because they've never had a horrible storm or disaster.
They thought this was the perfect place to live.
After what seemed like 20 minutes or so, Jami slid down from his stool sleepily, but woke himself up, by shaking and opening his eyes, widening them slightly as he grabbed the side of his stool and hoisted himself back up, looking around slightly.
He let out a tired breath and looked out, the slightly cool breeze blew, his eyes gleamed toward the ocean, moving, and suddenly spotting a figure slowly moving toward the docks.
He gave a confused stare, narrowing his eyes toward it.
What's that??
His mind searched for the answer, and to his realization, he realized the thing drifting toward the docks, was a ship.
Not just any ship, it was big ship, it large sails blowing with the wind.
His heart began to thud. An actual pirate ship!
His wide eyes stared toward it, he couldn't believe it. He's never seen one so big and magnificent.
He remembers his mother and father telling him stories of pirates passing through here, sometimes coming into town. Sometimes raiding the town, but that didn't happen very often, they were harsh, but only stopped by for what the needed.
That's what he thought.
He didn't seem to have anything against pirates it's just.. he didn't understand the concept of being one.
He knew they were up to no good.
He hoisted himself off from the stool and stood, he headed inside and grabbed his shoes and got down and tugged them on, making sure not to wake his sleeping father.
He grabbed his telescope he borrowed from someone and gave his father one last glance before silently tugging the door open and heading out.
He managed to run up to a hill, that gave him a good view of the docks from above. He opened the telescope and brought it up to his eye and gazed through it intently.
He let out a breath and gave a slight grin. Indeed it was a pirates ship, in all its glory.
It was just like the one he had seen in books and drawings, twice the size of normal stock ships, the sails of the ship were huge as they blew with the way of the wind.
After standing there, admiring the ship from a distance, he pulled his telescope from his eye and gave a slight shocked, and a bit of panicked look as he noticed the incoming ship was a whole lot closer than before.
In fact, it looked like it was docking.
Jami tenses and shrank his telescope and shoved it into his pants pocket and ran off
"Damn time goes by fast!!"

The large ship, door fell onto the dock, with a loud slam. After a moment, a tall man stepped out, his boots clanking against the wood, his hair glowed with the lowering sun.
He inhales a deep breath of salty sea filled air, the let it out with a slow breath, while cracking a grin, his teeth seeming sharp.
"It's good to be back!"
