"Let's go to Starbucks!" Phil said, jumping up an down. Dan sighed but agreed and they made a diversion to get some coffee, they left the coffee shop twenty minutes later, both holding steaming cups of coffee. "Are you happy now?" dan said, smirking at the look on Phil's face. Phil nodded as he stopped to drink his coffee, Dan carried on walking. He didn't notice he had walked into the road, until there was a a screech of breaks, Dan shut his eyes but before the hit he felt something collide with his side, knocking him over. Dan woke up a few minutes later, he was lying on the road, he looked to his side and horror stuck him as he saw his best friend's body lying in front of a car, coffee mixed with blood all around him. Dan stood up gingerly, he heard yells for him to sit down but he didn't listen, he made his way to the crowd of people around the dark-haired body. "Phil?" he choked out, crouching next to his best friend, Phil moved his head a bit and smiled at Dan weakly, before his eyes closed and he moved no more. "Phil!" Dan repeated, he felt hot tears in his eyes, no Phil could not be dead, Phil was bright happy never think of death, he should be dead, always thinking of death. The next thing Dan knew he was in an ambulance, watching people rush around Phil's body, he was utterly shocked, Phil, dead? No it couldn't be, he would see Phil jump up any second, making an innuendo. But Phil did not stir, he did not jump up, he did not give Dan the warm smile he usually did, Phil never moved again.
"Dan, you should go out," Phil said.
"When do I ever go out?" Dan replied, staring at his computer screen.
"Well, then you should make a video," Phil said.
"I can't not without you," Dan said, stiffly.
"Dan you still have a life, make a video, you don't need me," Phil sighed, stretching out on the sofa.
"But I can't tell everyone you're dead," Dan said his eyes watering.
"Yes you can," Phil said, "you have to remember, I am dead." Dan shook his head and looked at his best friend.
"I don't have to admit it," he said.
"It's better if you do," Phil replied, "I will always be here," Phil's hand touched Dan's chest but he felt nothing. Dan closed his eyes, then opened them, Phil had gone, hot tears spilled down his face as he buried his face in his hands. Why did Phil have to be gone? Why couldn't it all be a sick joke? Dan hadn't left the flat since Phil died, two months ago. He just existed, eating, sleeping and watching videos. He decided to make a video, he set up his camera in his bedroom and switched it on.
"Hello internet, I-" he said no he couldn't act like everything was normal, "hello, guys I know lots of you have wondered where Phil is and why neither of us had made a video, and. I'm going to tell you." dan rubbed his forehead and groaned, "I'll be doing a livestream at eight tonight, British time, be there and I'll explain everything." He switched the camera off, he didn't bother to edit it but just uploaded it to Daniel Howell, he watched the views go up, it made him sick when he remembered how he and Phil would compete for the most views on the latest video. He decided to go out to get his dinner that night, he pulled on a black hoodie and left the flat.
He walked to the road where the accident had happened, it was strange to see cars driving over where the life had left his best friend, to see people going about normal, if they could reflect him, they wold be crying and screaming. He stared at the spot he had last seen Phil smile, he looked across the road and saw a figure watching him. They stared at each other for a while, before Dan realized it had blue eyes, Phil's blue eyes. He waved at the figure, he saw it smirk, a car drove past blocking the figure from view and when it had pasted the figure was gone. Dan shook himself and went to pick up some pizza, he got back home around ten to eight, he set up his camera and computer and started the live video.
