Not the Exception

Chapter 8

When we finally get to Waffle House eveyone is there already waiting on us to order. As we walk in we all take a deep breath and smell the wonderful scents of the food. I sit next to Brison, like always. I order chocolate milk, amd a double chocolate chip waffle. Breakfast here is different that at home. Brison orders something different everytime we come here. It's cute how adventurous he is. Our food arrives and with a mouth full of eggs and whatever else Chy askes what I did while they were at Vynal. "I went to Traxx and read, haha." "Let me guess, Pop Salvation?" Ethan said in a know-it-all tone. "Haha what else?! She only reads that or Blake Nelson!" said Jake with a grin. Brison cuts in and says, "Yeah, but don't forget about all the other things she reads. All four of them, ahahaha." I blush and tell them  to shut up. It's all true. I only read a few books. I like what I like and thats that. "Hey guys at least she reads!" says Katie. Katie always has my back when it comes to me reading all the time. If she wasn't so in love with Chris she'd read almost as much as me, but she stands by Chris, even though he's dated half the female population and only uses her when he's bored. What can I say about it though, I've been there. If Katie and I hung out more I'm pretty sure we'd be twins. Thats what Chris says anyways. Everone laughs and jokes about stuff. We get our checks an dI pay for Chy and Lyssa's. I like to though, it makes me feel good. Chy an dI have been friends since Seventh Grade. We've known each other the longest, then Lyssa became a part of our group. I really love my friends. As we leave Brison suggests we all come back to his house. Everybody but me has a curfew, of course. I want to, because Brison always goes to Blockbuster and we get all horror movies, which is awesome. " So the plan is to take Chy and Lyssa to their house and then you can drop your car off at the house and whenever the movies are over I can take you home?" says Brison "Sounds good to us, but I need to get home like now." Chy yells across the diner at us. We all leave and Brison follows me to Chy's. As Chy is getting out she says in a quiet voice where nobody but me can hear her, "You better tell me if anything goes on tonight." "Yes mam! Love you guys! Lets do something tomorrow." "Alright! Love you too!" She slams the door and I pull out of her driveway and get on my road. I park and tell Brison that I'm going to grab some stuff and he follows me upstairs. "Hey mom!" "Hey sweetie, oh and Brison! How was Vynal?" "I went to Traxx and then we went to eat, hey is it okay if Brison and I go rent some movies and I stay over at his house for a while?" "Yeah, just take your car and if you  end up spending the night call me. I don't want you driving at 2 in the morning." "Alright!" I walk to my room with Brison trailing behind me and we walk in. "Geez it smells amazing  in here!" Brison says. "Haha, really?" "Yes!!!" "I don't know why?" "Don't question the magic." Brison says with a grin. Then I come back to reality. I MIGHT SPEND THE NIGHT AT BRISON'S AND I DON'T KNOW IF I LIKE HIM. I take a deep breath and grab my travel bag and pack pj's and while Brison isn't looking some extra underware. He tends to throw people in his pool sometimes.. My bag is full and I grab my keys, chargers and my purse. We walk outta my room and Brison grabs my bag for me. Ugh, why are you so damn charming I ask in my head. I kiss mom goodbye and she whispers in my ear "Are you guys dating?!" "NO!" I say and she asks if I need cash and just as I'm about to reply Brison cuts in and says "No mam, I've got all the cash we'll need, I'd never let her do without!" mom smiles and waves. We walk out the door, down the stairs and Brison handed me my bag. "So, meet me at that Blockbuster across from Chili's?" "Sounds good!" He does this litte jog to his car and I jump in mine and pull out of our complex. I drive down the road right behind Brison and pull into Blockbuster and park next to him.
