Adjusting my black skirt and re-button my black blouse for about the third time, I look at the wall clock resting against the boxes of my belongings with my heels next to them.

The dreaded day has come.

The day I attend my family's funeral.

All four of them in the same day.

My siblings didn't get a very long life, and my grandmother didn't deserve to die like that.

My mother on the other hand, I'm not sure about her. She wasn't exactly a decent mom.

My youngest sibling didn't even live to be two...

My brother didn't live to go to primary school...

Here I am now, my first year of high school, an orphan with no immediate family to turn to.

The only people I have are my best friend Dani and her family whom I've known for ten years.

Having to stay with them to finish my high school years will keep me safe, but what happens when someone unexpected changes my life?
