Chapter 2: Playing Detective

(Harry’s Point of View)

Something was definitely wrong with Louis, although he’s hiding it well. I can only tell because I’m closest with him. I can see how some smiles don’t reach his eyes and how he just seems tired, as if he’s mentally exhausted, and just wants to go home. I might not be able to ask him at the moment, but the interview is close to ending. I need to know what’s going on with him. I wonder what it’s about. I haven’t really seen Louis upset since he started dating Eleanor.

                Eleanor!

It’s probably something to do with Eleanor! I wonder what happened. Did they finally break up? Oh. I didn’t mean that to come out so rude. I mean, I like Eleanor; she’s a lovely lady, but she’s not the one for my Boo Bear. Sure, she’s like the girl version of him, but just because they are like each other doesn’t mean they are meant for each other. I shall prove this to him! He doesn’t need her. Nope! He can be absolutely happy without her. Besides, he has me to make sure he’s happy.

“Alright guys, that’s all the time we have for today. Thanks to One Direction for being here! Bye!” Tristian says into the microphone and the interview has officially ended! Tristian says thanks one more time before leaving the room. I guess he’s a busy guy.

But now it’s time to investigate!

“Hey, Lou, how about I just ride with you back to the hotel?” I ask Louis. I see him tense up real quick, which means he knows I’m going to question him.

“Yeah. How about he just goes with you? That way we don’t have to wait on ya and you guys share a room, anyways.” Niall piped up from across the room where he was getting his sweatshirt. I could just kiss him right now; he unintentionally made it harder for Louis to say no. Props to his Irish parents for not using a condom!

“Fine. You’re coming with me, Curly.” Louis states. I love when he calls me that, it makes me feel bouncy, like my curls.

I let out an excited “Whoop” and make way to the door the other three boys just walked out of. So much for a goodbye, eh? “Come on Carrot King! You’re taking forever!” I whine. I honestly wouldn’t care that he is taking long on a normal day, but I know that right now he’s just stalling. He doesn’t want to talk about whatever’s bothering him. Too bad, though, because I need to know. It’s killing me!

“You whine like a woman.” He did not just say that. He, of all people, should know that I’m no woman. I get women. “But, come on, might as well get going. You want to stop for something to eat?”

Do I want something to eat? It is late afternoon…though I’m not hungry right now. “Nah, let’s just order a pizza later.”

                “Alright.”

And with that, we leave! Finally. I thought Louis was going to find ways to keep us there all night just so he didn’t have to talk to me. He’s lucky I have the decency to wait until we’re at the hotel to say anything. This curiosity is killing me more than it killed the pussy…cat. I just want to know if Louis and I have a chance together. I was about to bust the moves a while back until I stupidly introduced him to Eleanor. I figured we were all going to be dandy friends, but I guess he took me introducing her to him as a, “Found somebody you might like, get at her, mate” gesture. It wasn’t.

I guess that’s why I didn’t seem too happy when they started dating. He’s my Boo Bear, nobody else’s. I didn’t want him with some girl, I wanted him with me. It just took me a while to be comfortable with my feelings towards him. I was certain that I waited too long and would never get another chance. But, it looks like opportunity might just be knocking on my door these days.

Louis drives us around to the back of the hotel where the parking area is completely secluded. This is nice because we don’t run into too many fans after a long day’s work. We then make our way into the lobby and up ten floors to our room. We’ve both been super quiet since we left the station, stuck in our own thoughts.

Once we’re inside Louis turns to me. “Look, I know you have some things you probably want to ask me, but can we just change into lazy clothes, put on a film, and get situated first?”

Nodding my head at him, we part ways. He grabs his clothes and takes the bathroom first to get changed while I order a movie that we’ll watch. Once I settled on the film “Friends with Benefits” Louis comes out in white sweat pants and a red zip up jumper. He’s wearing his glasses also, which, if I may say so myself, make him look even sexier. But, before he can catch me staring, I jump up and head to the bathroom to change. If it didn’t take so long to choose a movie, I would have been able to change in the room and be ready by now.

Coming out in my Jack Wills sweatshirt and some sweat pants, I notice Louis is already on the bed biting his nails. That really is a bad habit he’s got. Sitting down next to him, I put my arm around him, and he cuddles into me. This is natural for us. I just hope it soon means more than just two friends finding comfort in each other. This reminds me…

Right, down to business. “So, Lou, what happened today? Why’re you so sad?”

He turns his head so he can look at my face. He looks like a sad puppy, which ultimately makes me pout. “Eleanor broke up with me. She couldn’t handle all the hate she gets from fans.” Although I’m ecstatic that they broke up, the reason confuses me. Really, she couldn’t handle the pressure? That’s all? “I understand, because she did get a lot of hate just for being a normal girl who wants to love and be loved, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt.”

Aw, my Boo looks so sad right now. I pull him closer. “It’s okay, Boo Bear. You still have me.” Shit. That was way too romantic and too soon. “And the rest of the guys.” I think that was a decent recovery.

“Thanks.” He whispers while smiling sadly up at me.

I kiss his forehead and snuggle more into him. We continue watching the movie and then order a pizza. After eating, we head to our beds.

“Night, Hazza.” Louis says from his bed.

“Night, Boo.” I call back from my bed.

Recalling today’s events, I realize that my mood went from low to a high content feeling. I woke up this morning gloomy, fearing I’d have to watch the man I love with somebody else yet another day. But then something happened and I ended up playing detective. To which, I find out, I still have a chance with that very man. Although Louis is hurting right now, I know he will be fine soon. Besides, he’s not too cut up about it. It’s nothing I can’t fix.

~Author’s Note: Hello, there. These first couple chapters have been awfully boring, huh? But they need to happen to set everything into motion. Not that I fully know what I want out of this story. Haha, I’m basically just writing down what I think would be cool to happen. You know…Like Eleanor not being able to handle the pressure, ending things with Louis, Harry and Louis dating, the usual. Anywho! I hope you enjoyed reading this. Oh, and the picture off to the side is just hilarious. I absolutely love it. This fandom, I swear. xx~
