Ryuuka's P.O.V
I was told as a child that I just appeared one day on the orphanage doorstep. The only things left with me was the swaddling blanket, a dog tag with my first name on it, and a deck of cards which I always carry around with me.

Mr.Takashi, or as I call him, Pops, is the orphanage director. He was in his early thirties when he found me at the doorstep. He took me in and took care of me alongside the other children. He loved children and we loved him.

Unfortunately, his love for me didn't pass to the other children. They always bullied me, calling me names and hiding my stuff. It wasn't that bad at first, but then they started physically assaulting me when I was around nine years old. They pulled my hair and called me a freak because it's purple with a silver streak at the front.

As a result of the attacks, I told Pops what was going on. He went and scolded the kids who bullied me, but soon after they taught me a 'lesson'. I came back to Pops, but this time I asked if I could take martial arts classes. I was still nine, but I wanted to be able to protect myself. He allowed me, because he knew that he wouldn't be able to do much more than scold them.

That's also around the time I found out about anime.

And Yu-Gi-Oh.

When I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh, I immediately felt an attachment to it. I couldn't explain it, but I felt like my entire being was yearning to be part of that world. It's also when I figured out what the cards I've had really were.

A duelist deck.

It was a dragon and fairy deck, each card so beautiful and the deck is well balanced. I wondered why I have it, because I was told I had it since I was left there. Only conclusion was that whoever left me there was someone who liked Yu-Gi-Oh. You would think that I would get angry because it was given to me by the people who abandoned me, but I just became even more attached to the deck.

Now here I am, a fourteen year old otaku with weird hair and a passion for martial arts. The bullies have tried to make my life miserable, but I have a knack for evading everything they throw my way. Their words do not effect me and physical assaults were easily stopped with my sparring knowledge. Now I'm just an outcast, but I don't mind. I have Pops and anime. That's all I'll ever need.

Today, I am celebrating my birthday. The day Pops found me in the doorstep. I'm turning fifteen and what better way to celebrate my birthday than to watch the first episode of the new generation Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V! This would be the third generation released during my lifetime.

I plopped down on my bed in my room (I have a separate room because of the bullying when I was younger) and turned on my laptop (if your wondering I bought it with my own money that I earned doing some favors for the local community). I turned the website to HugAnime and find the episode. Grabbing a box of Pocky from my AniBinge stash (snack food only to be eaten when watching anime), I hit play.
Then, I blacked out. Except more colorful, at least from my perspective.

When I woke up, I found myself in an alley. Rising, I walked slowly to the exit not too far away. My reaction to what I saw?

"Please...don't let this be a dream..."
