I showered and went to find Jax, turns out he was downstairs in the kitchen fixing something to eat. I peered over at him and watched him work. I've never seen the man cook before, but he knows his way around the kitchen.

I stood there at the edge of the archway into the kitchen and watched him. From the back, he's delicious. I have a great shot of his broad muscular shoulder line and narrowed waist. He's shirtless and wearing jeans with bare feet. There is something oddly erotic about this scene. I think when it comes to Jax, I'm completely insatiable.

"I know you're there, Alana."

His soft, sweet, deep voice instantly forces me to blush. I gasp like I've been caught doing something I shouldn't have done. He turns to me, grey eyes meeting mine, chest perfectly sculpted, and there I go again my mind instantly turning dirty. I meet his eyes once more and his left eyebrow is raised. Jax knows what I was thinking.

"Would you like to help or would you rather ogle my ass?"

Jax's ass. I hadn't even gotten that far, yet. He's still turned my way so subconsciously my eyes tilt to the nice curve in his jeans. I've seen his bare perfect honey colored ass several times before. One day, I swear I'm going to spend a significant amount of time licking his firm butt.

"You are a strange woman, you want more after what you've gone through."

I grinned. I walked over to Jax and stood directly in front of him. "Please, do me a favor. Don't ever apologize for fucking me. I like when you do and you were right about me not being ready. When it comes to you, Jax, I don't like waiting."

He smirked. "I noticed." He handed me a couple tomatoes and a really big knife. "Dice."

I smiled. "Only if you plan on fucking me like that again," I state.

"I promise I'll let you have it if you ever begin dicing."

"Yes, Master." I say as a joke.

I split the first tomato in half. "What do you think about the other thing I've told you?"

I now had the first tomato in four pieces. "The truth about Constance," I asked and he nodded. "We all have secrets, Jax. For instance, you already know my brothers a pervert." Then it hit me, Dillon is my adopted brother. It would still take me time to get used to it. I shook the thought away. Jax wanted to talk. "Pax's anger is understandable. At the same time, you were very young. Have you tried talking to him or is he intent on you suffering like he did?"

Jax turned the stove dial down to cool the boiling of some noodles. He dropped in some cut up meat from another pot. "He wants me to suffer. I've tried talking to him and doing anything I could to make up for it. I know he loved her and his daughter. I did too. If I could go back, I would make sure it was me and not them. I made a mistake and I'm afraid Pax will use anything to hurt me. For the longest time, I allowed him to make me miserable. I'm too damn old to deal with his shit now."

I handed Jax my diced tomatoes and he gave me onions. Inwardly, I frowned as I began to cut open the onion already feeling my eyes burning. "How old are you, Jax?"

"I never told you," he stated as he began sliding the tomatoes into the saucepan. I shook my head as he grabbed a green pepper. "I turned thirty one on New Years Day."

My eyes were burning fierce. I rubbed my eyes constantly. Tears were already pouring down my face. "Jax, I blame you for this, old man."

"Ouch," he joked before snatching the onion from me. I rushed  over to the sink and wiped my eyes several times. "All the help you are," Jax joked.

I laughed. This was literally the first time that Jax and I had an actual conversation and joked with one another without the other getting smart or going defensive. I like it.

Dinner took about twenty minutes, afterward Jax and I sat down on his sofa in the living room and relaxed. "That was so delicious, I may do the dishes for you."

Jax grinned. "Don't worry, I employ a dishwasher."

I giggled. Right then, I heard my cell ring in the distance. I ran to go grab it. Dillon. I knew it was him because the number came from my parents home. I would be attending their funeral in the next two days. I couldn't think about them without crying.

"Who was it," Jax asked when I came back down the stairs.

"Dillon," I answered softly. "I didn't pick it up." I sat back on the couch folding my legs up onto the seat. "What if he killed our parents?"

"You do what you have to do. Prosecute him to the extent of the law."

I rolled my eyes. "Can you believe with all this stupid technology and more money than I know what to do with, there still isn't a form of time travel that I could use to avoid all this shit?"

Jax laughed lightheartedly. He leaned over and pressed his lips to my forehead. Jax gave me a first kiss. I just wish it wasn't a child like kiss. I wanted lips to lips tongue to tongue action.

I took what I could get and leaned my body into his. "They're dead, Jax."

His arm came around my waist and pressed my back into his chest. A second kiss came to the top of my head. "I know, Alana. And I promise you, whoever killed them will pay."
