Practice comes to a close. It's 8 pm, and whew am I tired.
Wayne walks over to me, his guitar already put away., I can tell he is tired too.
"It takes getting used to, the schedule, it's crazy." I tell him.
"Your right about that....." He tells me.
"You should probably get started on homework, I know after evening practice I'm usually up until 1:30 doing homework..."
"Oh wow, hey before I go.... could I ummmm.... Could I ummmm... get your... ummmm... number, for tutoring, math isn't a strong subject for me.... "
"Ohh, okay..." I say, smiling to him, not even realizing I'm blushing to the point with both look like tomatoes.
He starts to walk over to Mrs. Amy because she is just about to leave for the night.... So I start walking towards the door, when I hear him set his guitar case on the ground. run over. and he gives me a big hug and another little kiss on the cheek, "Lexi, thank you for making me feel welcome in the first time in my life...."
"It's no problem, see you tomorrow Wayne..." I say with a slight smile and kiss him back.
I walk out the doors, get in my car and head home.
*Later that evening*
It's 12am and I'm still awake, stupid math teacher assigned us way too much homework for a senior almost done with school. I'm just about to sit down at my desk with my phone dings, someone texted me. I pick up my phone, unlock it, and open my texts. One text in my inbox.
It reads: "Hey! This is Wayne, idk if ur still up..... I can't sleep...... wanna talk?"
I look over to my math homework.... I guess it's not that hard, I can talk to Wayne for a while.
I text him back: "Hey, what's up, why can't you sleep? Homework?"
I get a response almost instantly, he must really be awake.... "No, I'm done with my homework... I just can't sleep, can I tell you something?"
"Sure, what?"
"Well.... I have Clinical Insomnia, and currently its keeping me up.... at home I would play my guitar though the night to help me when I couldn't sleep."
"Why can't you do that now?"
"Well, because, ummmm...."
"Ummm what? Why can't you Wayne?"
"Look out your window....."
