Here is another picture of Velvet. Unfortunately you can't see her quarter orange tail but you can see the lemon frost pattern on her back.

The leopard gecko is a crepuscular ground-dwelling lizard naturally found in the highlands of Asia and throughout Afghanistan, to parts of northern India.

It's Latin name is Eublepharis macularius meaning spotted and eyelid due to the gecko's movable eyelids, uncommon in the gecko world.

The leopard gecko is one of the most common captive-kept lizards and is considered a beginner reptile.

Like many lizards, the leopard gecko has a tail that breaks off readily when grabbed by a predator. The leopard gecko has no grasping toe pads and therefore cannot climb smooth vertical surfaces.

Leopard geckos are insectivorous and feed on mealworms, waxworms, superworms, crickets, roaches, hornworms and rarely locusts. Most leopard geckos will refuse to eat pre-killed food and prefer to hunt live prey.

Their tails are like a built in fat storage unit an therefore leopard geckos will be reluctant to drop their tail. ( known as an autotomy)
