Sam sighed as he heard Cas and Dean going at it in their bedroom down the hall. They made the mistake of leaving Sam alone with his own thoughts. Sure they didn't know about Sam's hatred towards himself, but that was because he didn't want them to know. What would they think? Would Dean call him a baby and say "Suck it up" and then laugh at his unintended dirty joke? Would Cas not know what Sam's feelings meant and just leave it alone like it wasn't a big deal? Sam couldn't handle that happening, he would probably break apart.

The noises got louder from Cas' and Dean's room, making Sam roll his eyes in annoyance. He wished the walls in their room were soundproof. Although Sam had unknowingly picked a room with soundproof walls, Dean had to pick the only room without soundproof walls. Sam would switch rooms, but he doesn't want to sleep on that bed. Being in his own room didn't seem to conceal the noises very well, just muffled them a bit. But now this left Sam to his thoughts, farther away from anyone he could possibly talk to. He couldn't use his laptop, he had left it in the library when he had enough of Sam and Dean and had to go to his room. There was no way he was going to take away what little peace he had just to get a laptop.

The thoughts started shoving their way into Sam's mind, taking over any thought he was previously having. "You need to get over Gabriel. He isn't coming back." "Gabriel probably faked his death to get away from you."  Sam could remember the day Gabriel died clearly, the memory etched in his mind to torment him every day. He could remember the first thing Gabe said to him that day, even though it was two weeks ago. "Heya Sammy! Ready to kick some Luci Ass?!" Sam remembers smiling down at Gabe, his cheerful mood rubbing off on him a bit. "If you're that excited, why don't you make lunch or something? Anything to keep you occupied." Gabe's honey colored eyes had lit up like the sun at the mention of food and he ran to the kitchen.

Everything was going great until they actually had to go on the hunt. The whole thing made Sam nervous. They were going after Satan for crying out loud, he had every right to be nervous. The whole hunt was the biggest mistake they couldn't made, and Sam made it worse by dragging Gabe along with them. Little did Sam know at the time, that was the day his whole life would come crashing down on him.

*Flashback*

Sure the day started off great but it ended up being the worst day of Sam's life. The track to find Lucifer continued and, at the time, they were close to catching him and throwing him back into the cage. Gabe decided he wasn't going to interfere until the boys were in trouble, and soon disappeared after giving Sam a chaste kiss. Dean had made a throwing up sound, earning himself a bitch-face from Sam. Gabe reappeared to smack Dean in the back of the head, making Sam almost fall over laughing. "Gabriel you sonovabitch." Dean had whispered, Sam laughing his ass off behind him. Cas wasn't there, but Sam could imagine what the confused angel would've said. "I don't understand."

Their happy moment was soon ruined when they stepped inside that seemingly-normal hotel. Bodies were strewn everywhere, all missing a limb. Blood was splattered on the walls and furniture, which was laying in broken heaps in random places. The sight was awful to look at. Sam and Dean had to duck a few times so they wouldn't run face first into the bodies hanging from the ceilings. Dean stepped over a body that was laying in a doorway, making a quiet gagging sound as he saw the hole in the person's chest.

"Ugh that's just disgusting!" Dean had said to Sam, stepping away from the body so Sam could step over it too. "You do worse things to the monsters you kill, why does this get to you?" Sam was just stating a fact, which made Dean rethink what he said. "You know what? Shut up." Sam fought back a laugh as they continued walking father into the hotel. Dean came to a screeching halt as a loud scream came from the a closed door across from them. Both boys drew their guns as they walked towards the room the scream came from.
