Elijah turned his head to look at her waiting for her to explain herself. "That's not true. I told you that all your mother wanted was a new start." she lied, obviously.

Both Imogen and Elijah could hear the fast beating of the doppelgänger's heart. Imogen looked at Elijah, who stared at Elena.

"I can hear your heartbeat. It jumps when you're being dishonest with me." Elijah walked over to Elena and stood only two steps away from her. "You lied to me at the ball, you are lying to me now. Tell me the truth."

Elena shakes her head. "I never wanted this to happen." she whispered.

Elijah took a menacing step towards her. "What, Elena?"

"We were told that whatever was going to be in that coffin was going to kill Klaus. When we found out that it was your mother. We didn't know what to think." Elena started to explain.

"Since her return she says she only wants this family whole again." Elijah said nonchalantly.

"When she asked to see me, I, I thought that maybe she could help. That she would find a way to kill Klaus." Elena explained.

Imogen's chocolatey brown eyes narrowed after hearing what Elena has said. Elijah quickly glanced at her and gave her a look telling her to calm down.

"It's not just Klaus that she wants to kill." Elena continued.

"She wants to kill us all, doesn't she? Farien, my siblings and I. She wants to undo the evil she created." Elijah said

Imogen's eyes widen in shock as Elena quickly shakes her head. "No, wait. Not Imogen."

Elijah stared at Elena, confused. "What do you mean?"

"You said all of us, Elena."

Elena flinched. She turned and saw Imogen standing behind her, her arms folded across her chest.

"Imogen!"

The noirette stood beside Elijah as they stared Elena down.

"What do you mean, Elena?" Imogen asked.

Elena sighed. "She made you what you are but she has no intentions of harming you, worse, killing you."

"Esther planned on killing all her children while she has no intentions of killing me unlike the others?" Imogen asked, more to herself than to Elena. Elena nodded as Imogen continued talking. "That doesn't make sense."

The Immortal was angry, beyond irate at Esther. She will never forgive the Original witch if she succeeds. She loves and cares for the Mikaelsons, Klaus, Kol, Elijah, Rebekah and Finn more than herself and would do anything for them.

Elena looked to Elijah. "I'm so sorry, Elijah." she smiled sadly at Imogen. "I'm really sorry, Imogen. I wish there was something I could do to help."

Elijah and Imogen exchange a look. A look Elena had no idea what it meant.

Imogen tightly closed her eyes and took a deep breath as the sky darkened and the wind got stronger, which made an eerie atmosphere around the three supernaturals. Elena, scared, glanced around not knowing what was happening. Elijah, on the other hand, remained calm.

As the Immortal opened her eyes, everything went back to normal. Elena gasped, seeing the noirette's kind chocolatey brown eyes became pitch black.

A smirk slowly made its way on Imogen's face as she folded her arms across her chest and took a step towards Elena. She was emitting a dangerous aura around her, making the doppelgänger tremble in fear, taking a few steps back.

Elena never seen this side of the Immortal Imogen Avery before. No one has.

"You'll regret this, Elena Gilbert. You'll regret helping Esther." Imogen said nonchalantly, her words and voice were cold and nowhere near kind.

The Imogen standing before Elena wasn't even the real, kind and loving Imogen. An Imogen that she unconsciously created herself because of her anger with Esther. Her alter ego.

"Unexpected isn't it, Elena?" Elijah asked, a small smug look on his face.

Elena was beyond confused.

"You know, one thing I've learned on my time on this Earth, be careful what you wish for." Elijah told her.

"Don't make an enemy out of someone you can't handle." Imogen added and made a huge deep hole on the ground behind her and quickly moved aside as Elijah grabbed the doppelgänger and jumped down the hole with her.

"I swear Esther's plan will fail." Imogen muttered. "I'll protect Nik, Kol, Elijah, Rebekah and Finn. Anyone standing in my way will suffer."
