Song that inspired it: Save Myself by Ed Sheeran

Piece by broken piece,
you fell apart,
in a world where everyone
is so put together.

And no one understands
how it is
to chip off at the corners
and then the whole side just breaks
and eventually the center
crumbles too.

No one came to save you,
so you crumbled alone,
while they watched in wonder
of what you had become.

You resulted to numbing the pain
in shameful and unacceptable ways.
Things people assume you did
only for attention.
They'll never understand
unless they're the ones
ripping the blade through their skin,
or downing a bottle of pills
or a flask of rum
to forget what it feels like
to be this way.

You searched for comfort
in other people
and it tore you apart.
You'd get attached,
and then they'd leave.
It was a vicious cycle,
until you finally thought
you could find what you needed
in death.
When that didn't work,
you realized it was bedrock
your blistered feet stood upon.
You hit literal rock bottom,
and as they say,
there's no where left to go now but up.
