"This party sucks." Pip, one of my friends groaned, tucking a strand of light blue hair behind her ear.
"I know, right?" Paul sighed in agreement. "How about you, Kira?"
"It could be better, yeah."
Lyla took a sip from a red solo cup. "At least there's decent beer."
Pip was and is my best friend, who is also a lesbian. She has long, light blue hair and her personality includes dark humor, pessimism, brutal honesty, and being silent in public areas. We may have known each other for only 3 years, but we got along really well. Right now and most of the time, she sports black sweatpants or jeans and a hoodie over a black t-shirt. Also, she wears beanies.
Paul is the gay best friend of the group, except he's not openly gay. Only a select few beside us group of friends know about his homosexuality. He wears loose jeans and a bright colored t-shirt most of the time. He's happy-go-lucky most of the time.
Lyla's the girl who tries to impress guys all the time and never fails to succeed. She has brown hair usually braided or tied up in a ponytail. She wears a miniskirt and a denim jacket over some kind of graphic tee that's too small for her. She's happy and even happier when she sees a guy she likes. But she still has a boyfriend.
I'm Kira. I have red hair bit past my shoulders and I hate using makeup. I have black, rectangle-frame glasses. Usually I wear jeans, a t-shirt, a coat, and a bowler hat. I'm currently a vlogger on YouTube with 209,832 subscribers and counting.
Suddenly, Lyla's boyfriend popped up. Speak of the devil.
"Hey, babe."
"Oh, Daryl!" She kissed him on the lips. I could notice his arm reaching up her shirt.
Pip took off her beanie and hit Daryl across the face with it. "No, Daryl. I will not have Lyla get pregnant today."
"So it's okay if I get her pregnant tomorrow?"
"Daryl, I think you need to sit down, bro." One of his friends told him.
"I'll take him," Paul grinned.
"No! We need you, Paul, or else it'll look like we're an all-girl group!"
"What's so bad about that? And if you need a bodyguard, you have Pip." He walked away, Lyla trailing behind him.
"Well, there goes Paul and Lyla." I sat on a couch. The television in front of us was playing that new Star Wars movie. Don't ask me which one, I forgot.
"She's too clingy if you ask me." Pip flopped down next to me, putting her head on my shoulder.
"She loves her boyfriend."
"Yeah, my ex-girlfriend 'loved' me, too."
"You're never getting over Talia, are you?" I poked her on the cheek.
"Dumping someone in the middle of PE class isn't exactly subtle."
"Just get over it."
"Get over her or the way she dumped me?"
"Both."
"That is way harder than you think it is."
"It doesn't have to be."
"No, I'm not going to a therapist."
"Hey, Kira!" One of my friends called out from the kitchen, a two beers in each hand. It's Chris. "Get over here!"
"I honestly want to stay here and videotape your balancing act." I grinned.
Chris was an awkward, nerdy kind of guy who always trips on things and tries to keep up with the group all the time. We dated once. It was a disaster. He's an African American who usually wears jeans, a white t-shirt, and some kind of leather jacket.
