what is pain?
it's not getting hit in the face with a ball,
or tripping down a few stairs.
it's greater than something physical,
it's emotional.
when someone you thought would never leave you
suddenly disappears.
when you constantly get your hopes up
only to be let you down time and time again
when you allow someone to treat you like you are nothing,
worthless.
when you've liked someone for 9 months,
someone who will never like you back.
pain is when you can literally feel your heart ache,
when you feel your heart beating slower
and sink further and further down your throat
until you feel like you're choking.
it's too late.
pain is when your body trembles from crying
or when you hold back tears and your throat closes up
and you've lost your ability to speak.
when you see him holding another girl
wishing it was you.
pain is more than scraping your knee,
or breaking your arm.
pain isn't just something physical.
it's emotional.
emotional pain.
