The Feté didn't go very well for Caroline again. But she had expected it. Now everyone would remember her name as the embarrassing Caroline.

Poor girl.
But she was not alone that evening, that strange boy was with her. From whom she thought, she'd never see him again.

When I came back to strength, I noticed that i was sitting on a bench outside. My head was leaning on something comfortable.  Something hard but comfortable.
Where am I?

After my eyes had finally opened, I quickly got up. "You ? What ? What happened?" I asked too fast and sat on the other side of  the bench, away from the boy on whos shoulder my head was lying.

"Calm down, you've fainted, I've only got you out of the crowd ..."
I did not let him talk, got up and just walked away from him.

"Wait where do you want to go?" he asked and came after me. I accelerated my gait.
Good question where am I and where am I going ?

I must go back to the fete and ask Stefan to drive me home. "Wait!" i heard him say and noticed how he held me by my arm. He pulled me back so i had to look at him.

"Please leave me alone." i begged and slowly started to feel desperate since i didn't know where i was exactly.
"Let me bring you home." he volunteered. " I don't even know you and this is all your fault."

"My fault? What can I do if you get scared that easy?" "Oh so it's all my fault." I screamed, horrified. "I didn't say that."  he shook his head. The light post in the park glowed down on him and I stared at him for a short while.

"You did not even apologise." I stated. "I am sorry."
I didn't expect this. He apologized without refusing. "Now let me bring you home. This is the least I can do."
Why is he so nice now? I mean he doesn't know me and wants to help me. But he is right, he has brought me into this situation. He has to get me out again. "Where are we anyway?" I asked for security. If I would be near the fete I might be able to walk alone. "Why does that matter? I am not letting  a lady wander around alone in this darkness."  he was thinking the same thing as me. This made me smile. "What is there to grin?" Now he smiled too.

"Nothing important, okay, you can accompany me, but under one condition." i said and he tilted his head to the side, slightly thoughtful.  As an indication that I can continue to speak. "You take me back to the fete and from there Stefan can drive me home."
With a nod he accepted my condition and we walked back to the fete.

"I have a few questions though." I said quietly after a short while. "I am listening." he allowed me to ask him. "How did you get me here and where exact were we?" "I have carried to the nearest bench that was nearby. I think that's the Black Tree Park."

He noticed how shocked I was, about the fact that he had to carry me.  "Don't worry, nothing happened and you're not that heavy." he laughed. I remembered his statement that I was heavy. We both laughed.

How come i didn't recognise that this was the Black Tree Park. This park is ten minutes away from the corn field where the festival takes place.

The trees always look black from the darkness, that is why it's called Black Tree Park. When i was little i came here often.
I should have knownwhere we are.

"You're Caroline Forbes aren't you?" His question brought me back to reality. "Yes. How do you know this?" i asked. "Our fathers knew each other?" "Is that so?" he nodded.
"May i be able to get to know who you are then?"

"Klaus. Klaus Mikaelson."
Mikaelson? Mikaelson...
I thought for a long time until i finally recognised the name. "Your father is Mikael Mikaelson?"
"Yes."

Flashback

"Your father saved his life then, so they became best friends." Grandma told me about fathers old stories. They made riot in school together.

They got along perfectly. When, however, Mister Mikaelsons father took his son from school because they moved, my father lost his best friend.

To this day they have never seen each other again.

End of Flashback

"How do you know who i am?" I asked. I never introduced myself to him. "I moved here for a while, my father told me about his youthful days and he mentioned your father very often. He had not forgotten the old days..." i interrupted him with my curiosity and asked, "Why do you say had not ?"

His facial features changed "His last wish was to see his best friend again and give him..." he pulled out a letter from his inner jacket pocket "...this."

I didn't notice the tear running down my cheek.
"I am sorry, my deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace."

"Amen" we both looked up to heaven.

"To come back to the question, how i know you, well i've done my research." i looked at him.
"You have to explain that to me."
We were close to the entrance of the festival. At that moment, Mary called me "Caroline where were you?" She and Bellamy were running towards us. "Your aunt is so concerned and is looking for you everywhere." "A long story." i told her.

"I'll tell you everything another day." Klaus whispered in my ear. Just as Stefan and my aunt wherr walking towards us, Bellamy and Klaus said goodbye and drove off.
"You will explain me all of this at home, young lady!" my aunts serious voice made me shudder. I have never seen her this worried.

I'll tell you everything another day, he said. Does that mean we'll meet again?

I hoped at least.
