Chapter One-

Lucy's P.O.V

The hot sun beat down on me as I made my way home.  My house barely came into view when out of the corner of my eye, I spotted an old man sitting, hunched over on the side of the street. I immediately noticed his tattered clothes and grimy face.

I had just earned $12 dollars from my two hour shift at the cleaners. I felt the urge that it was my responsibility to help him. If I didn't, I felt no one would. I handed him half of my pay, leaving me with a mere $6.

"Here you go" I said, smiling, handing him the money.

"T-thank y-you kind lady!" He responded stuttering. "I wish there was more people in the world like you.."

Natsu's P.O.V

"This is disgusting! Are you trying to poison me?!"

"I-I'm So-o Sorry Master Natsu.."

"You know what, You should be taught a lesson. Your fired! What kind of maid can't even make a simple Rhône-Alpes with some Languedoc- Roussillion right?!" Just then my father walked in with an annoyingly angry look on his face.

"Natsu!" He exclaimed. "This is the last straw! Lalida is the best maid you will hope to find in this country, therefore she is not fired; It's you who should be taught the lesson here!"

I simply scoffed knowing very well my ignoramus of a father couldn't do anything. I then joked,

"Oh no! What's my scary father gonna do this time!"

"Your getting married," He said smirking and walking off.

"What?" I chuckled at the thought. "Yeah, Right." The thought of getting married didn't exactly beam on me. I was happy enough with the life I lived now, which, of course, consisted of new women every night.

The last thing I needed was for one to hold me down or tell me what to do.

Lucy's P.O.V

"Lucy!" I heard my father exclaim ecstatically. "I have some great news!"

I hurried into the room anxious to hear the supposedly good news my father had in store for me.

"No more eating out of boxed meals and working night shifts! Supposedly, some man saw you giving a homeless man money earlier, and he believed you would be the perfect women to marry his rich and wealthy son, Natsu!"

I frowned at the thought. I had heard about this "Natsu" before; he was supposedly one of the rudest people in town. I looked up at my father about to decline the offer until I caught sight of his euphoric face. I knew what I had to do then. My father meant everything to me and he had been trying his best for the two of us ever since my mother passed away; I at least owed this to him...
