➵ Chapter 19

The two girls, Via and Helena have been hanging out together for the past couple of days. Via is succeeding at befriending the other girl which is putting her plan into motion. Via wants Simon back, and wants him back badly. Befriending Helena, was only step one.

Via knows about Simon and Josh. She figured it out on her own. She knew Simon felt some way about Josh when they decided to break up. She acted like it was a mutual feeling but, she wanted Simon. She wanted him bad. The fact that he replaced her so soon was upsetting for Via. But, she's going to try to change that.

The two were talking about random things. They got on topics such as, what they're studying, favorite singers, bands, and strangely enough Via tried talking about Simon. Helena tried avoiding the subject but, Via was persuasive and stubborn.

"So, you and Simon? How long have you two been together?" 

"Oh um...Not very long. About a month to say the least."

Helena noticed her obsession over Simon and that made the situation uncomfortable quick. "So anyways," Helena said changing the subject. "what're you studying again?"

"Art. I always enjoyed drawing when I was younger, and people always told me I was rather good at it so, I decided to take it up. How about you?" Via asked

"Performing Arts. I also do it with one of Allie's friends Sophie. She's a nice girl." Helena said

"Oh Sophie? Oh yeah, she's nice. Her and JJ are cute."

"Yeah. They've been dating for a while right?" 

"Oh yeah. I think they'll be one of those couples where they'll like, always be together."

After a while, Helena decided that they should end this already. They were about to leave the Starbucks. Helena gathered her phone, keys, and her wallet in her bag. "I should be going now." Helena said standing up from her chair.

Via sighed then gave her a fake smile, "Awe already? Maybe we can hang around your place."

"I would love to but...I have papers to write."

"Can I at least walk you back to where you're staying? You know, I invited you here and it would be rude to just have you walk back by yourself." 

Helena sighed and nodded, knowing that there is no hope in convincing her not to come. Via gathered her stuff and started walking behind Helena. Helena gave her suspicious look before they both left. Helena can play innocent but she's not stupid. She knows something is up with Via and her obsession with always hanging out with her. 

They both walked back in silence. They had nothing to say to each other. 

As they reached closer to the penthouse, Allie spotted them from her window. She yelled into the house, "Via is in the area!"

Simon came into Allie's room. "What do you mean Via is in the area?" Allie gestured him towards her window and he looked out. "Why is she here? And why is she with Helena?" Simon asked

"Well she was here at your party. Maybe she forgot something, or something." Allie replied

"My ex-girlfriend and my current girlfriend together. Why do I have a feeling that, that's not gonna end up well?"

"Well you're with Josh anyways. I don't think you should worry about them. At least Helena." Allie said shrugging

Simon sighed, "I hope you're right."

Meanwhile with Harry and Vikk, they are both packing for their trip to Harry's home, Guernsey. Harry was so excited to tell his parents and was not the least bit nervous. Vikk didn't understand how Harry was so calm about this. 

Vikk was about to shit his pants when he was coming out to his parents.  It took him almost two years until he came out fully. It was scary for him. He was scared of being disowned, thrown out, or being abandoned. All of these fears engulfed him and caused him to fear his own parents. He was scared that, if he said or did something that made him look suspicious, his parents would react quickly.

Vikk was more scared for Harry than Harry should've been for himself. Harry just thinking that, his parents wouldn't mind and they wouldn't do anything to harm him. He was sure of it.

Harry quickly stuffed some shirts and pants into his small blue suitcase, then zipped it up. Vikk didn't pack much, only a shirt and pants. Vikk had a feeling that Harry's parents weren't going to take this well.

Vikk started thinking about the terrible things that could possibly happen with Harry and his parents. They could possibly start a fight and throw him out in front of his brother and sister. Or worse they could beat him. Vikk tensed up at the thoughts and sat himself down on his bed next to his suitcase.

Harry noticed Vikk's movement and gave him a look of concern, "You okay?"

Vikk looked up at him, "Y-Yeah." 

Harry sighed and took a seat next to him, "You're not a good liar Vikk. What's wrong?" 

Vikk made eye contact with Harry, "Haz, how are you so, not nervous, about this whole thing? Like, coming out to your parents? Hazza that's a lot. Are you even a little bit nervous?"

Harry looked away and sighed, "If I'm gonna be honest Vikk. Yeah, I kinda am." Harry admitted while laughing nervously. "I mean, I'm not 100% that they'll be okay with it. I know I'm there son but, some parents still disown or throw out their own kids. I am very nervous Vikk." 

"I can't blame you. You found out you were gay a month ago and, a month later you're coming out to them. It took me two years to come out to my parents alone. I can't imagine how you feel." Vikk said with sympathy

"Well, imagine it. It's not pretty."

"Hey, you got more balls than me to come out so soon. I kinda wish I came out sooner but, I was too scared to. You can do this Hazza." Vikk said smiling

Harry smiled back and felt relieved, "You're right. I can do this. It's just saying a couple of words...with some consequences. Hopefully there will be none." Then Harry stood up and walked over to his suitcase. 

Vikk did the same, "Should we go already?" 

"Yeah. We might miss our plane."

Vikk nodded and got his suitcase and keys and started to head out the door with Harry close behind. Harry shut the door behind him.
