Before you read: This was my first fanfiction, and is absolutely horrendous. I was 12 when I wrote it, and to put it simply, this is the worst thing I've ever created. I might reupload the whole thing just for the hell of it, but don't expect much from it. Thank you <3
I sighed, brushing my hair out of my eyes, waiting anxiously for the last day of exams to be over. I'd finished early, and my best friend was having a meltdown, watching the clock as she hastily scribbled down her answers. I was bored, my eyes wandering around the room. Suddenly, I felt someone looking at me. Turning ever so slightly, I saw Draco smirking in the row behind me.
How'd you do? He mouthed, tilting his head.
Okay. Poor Millicent. I replied, looking at the feverishly scrawling girl. Draco chuckled silently and shook his head.
"Time's up!" A lazy voice drifted across the room.
Looking toward the front again, all twenty of us Slytherins sighed in relief.
"Turn your papers in at the front of the class on your way out," Snape said as he stood by the door.
Millicent whimpered silently next to me. My eyes roved Professor Snape. Hes so dark and handsome.. I thought, being a stereotypical fangirl. As we filed out the door, papers in hand, Millicent whispered,
"He looks hot today, huh?" I started and blushed.
"Who?" I asked, praying she didn't see me staring.
"Draco!" She muttered, looking behind her with a look of longing.
"Right," I replied, rolling my eyes.
"He's our friend. Why would you want anything more? It could ruin the adventures we have."
Millicent stared at me, disbelieving.
"How can you be so heartless?" She teased, handing her paper to Snape.
Damn it. Every time I spoke to him, I made a total fool of myself. Taking a deep breath, I put my paper in his hand with an embarrassed smile. Unfortunately for me, as I looked into that brooding face, our fingers grazed each other. I felt an explosion of butterflies ravaging my stomach. In a second that seemed like eternity, I could see a microscopic trace of a smile flit across that mouth of his. I turned even redder as I walked out.
Millicent had been waiting for me, and immediately that something was up. She smirked, looking from Snape to my cringe-worthy face.
"I see what's going on here," she said, laughing.
"Someone has the hots for Professor Punisher!"
That had been a nickname everyone had used since our first year. I personally hated it, but she insisted on using it constantly.
"Millicent!" I whisper-screamed, whipping around to make sure no one heard.
Of course, I saw Snape at the doorway, nearly done collecting papers. I groaned and faced her again.
"Don't you dare tell anyone!"
Millicent's face twisted into an evil grin. "I'm going to help you." Her tone was sweet, but the look in her eyes was downright devilish.
"Professor!" She called, as the last student walked out of his classroom,
"Y/N had a lot of questions about the exam. Can you help her?"
"Damn it, Millicent!" I muttered as Snape tilted his head.
"Why of course, Miss L/N, it would be my pleasure," he drawled.
"Step inside," he ordered, with a jerk of his head.
Not wanting to upset him, I obeyed. Just before he closed the door behind us, I saw Millicent give me a thumbs up. I was going to kill her.
"Sit," he said, gesturing to a chair across from his desk. Heart pounding, I sat down, close to bolting out of that classroom like lightning.
"Now, what seems to be the problem?" He leaned in, his black eyes almost brown in the setting sun. Desperate to think of a question, I stuttered.
"U-um... who i-invented the.. Draught of L-living D-death again?" I squirmed, more uncomfortable than ever.
He cleared his throat, and to my surprise he turned slightly red. "I did," he said in that hotter-than-hell baritone voice that drove me crazy. His eyes darted to my chest for a fraction of a second. At the time I didn't think anything of it; I was too shocked at what I'd just heard.
"Wow! That's amazing!" I said, my shyness receding.
"It's extremely complex, I can't imagine what it took to invent it!"
"Thank you, Miss L/N." A genuine smile tugged at his mouth.
"Is that all?" He stood up.
"Yeah.. Thank you, Professor!" I tried to sound bubbly.
I left his classroom, smiling wider than I had in a long time. Millicent was giving me the evil eye as I stepped outside. "Let me guess, you guys had sex." She rolled her eyes back and moaned. "Ohhhhhh, Professor!" She never could tell when or when not to cross certain boundaries.
"Millicent fucking Bulstrode!" I nearly screamed. She laughed and hugged me, her blond hair tickling my face.
"Calm down, it's only a joke," she said with more than a hint of amusement.
As she let go of me, she stared at my shirt. Following her gaze, I let out a groan of utter humiliation. My shirt was buttoned low enough to see my cleavage. Dry sobs of embarrassment filled the hallway. Millicent looked guilty. "I shouldn't have made you go in there," she sighed. "No. It's okay. I learned something today," Facing his classroom , I said with more certainty than I'd ever felt before, "I'm in love with Severus Snape."
