I bolted out my house. As i got in my car, I called Gigi.

"Hey, Luke. What's up?"

"We have to go to the hospital."

"Why? Luke, what happened?"

"I called Lauren and while we were on the phone she got in a crash."

"What?!"

"Do you know where she was going?"

"I think she was going to your house, because earlier, she said she was going to see you."

"Oh my god. Okay. I'm going to head toward her house and see if I can see her."

"Alright. I'll check the hospital."

"Okay. I'm really sorry."

"Don't worry. Accidents happen. But if she dies, I'm coming for you!" She promised, kinda scaring me. I don't know what happened or how bad it happened. But I know she's hurt and that's exactly what I want to avoid.

As I'm driving towards her house, I feel a tear run down my face. I never cry, so I was confused. I got this gut feeling I was about to see her, and I was right.

I looked out my window once I saw an ambulance. I saw her car and I froze. It was upside down. The drivers side window was smashed in and the whole left side was pushed in. I saw them with a stretcher. There was a body on it, but it was so bloody, that I didn't know who it was, but at the same time of course I knew. I jumped out of the car and walked over to them.

"Oh my god. Lauren." I said, tears streaming down my face.

"Do you know this girl?" The paramedic asked.

"Yeah. She's my girlfriend."

"Oh. Okay. Well she had a really rough hit. There's no telling if she's going to survive. In fact, it's highly unlikely she can survive this. I'm really sorry." The paramedic said, with sympathy in his voice.

"What are the chances?" As I asked this, Gigi pulled up.

"Not likely. Maybe one in a hundred." He said, as Gigi walked up.

"What's one in a hundred?" She said, staring at Lauren.

"Chances she'll survive this." I said.

Gigi automatically began to cry. I've known her for years and I've never seen her cry. I hugged her and the paramedic said only one of us can go in the ambulance. Gigi told me to, so she could pick up Parker. I mean, him and Lauren were beginning to become pretty good friends. Once we got to the hospital, I sat in the waiting room. Gigi arrived about twenty minutes later with Parker and they sat next to me, hand in hand.

We sat there for three hours, asking doctors around if they knew how she was doing. None did. One doctor did, though and they said it wasn't good. They said that her heart failed during the surgery. Then, they said not to worry, because they got it under control. After two more hours, the doctors let us back into the ICU. She had stitches on her face and many bruises. I hated to see her like that. It's the hardest thing you'll ever have to deal with. To possibly lose someone you love and know it's all your fault.

The doctors came and checked on her. Me, Gigi and Parker had to leave the room for the examination. When it was over, the doctor pulled us into a room and told us that the chances of her living are slim to none. We went back into the room.

"Can I have a minute with her?" I asked Gigi and Parker.

"Yeah. Let's go Gigi." Parker said and they left.

I sat next to Lauren and grabbed her hand. "Hey, babe. I am so sorry that this happened to you. I know it's all my fault and when you wake up, that's how you'll think of me. The monster who almost got you killed. Or, most likely, DID get you killed. You didn't deserve to get hurt, and you sure don't deserve to be in a freaking coma! The doctors don't think you're gonna live. So, surprise us all and open up your beautiful green eyes."

Gigi walked in. "Hey, are you okay?"

"No. This is all my fault. I should have let her go when she said she needed to. But, I didn't. I'm so sorry."

Gigi hugged me. "Im sure she'll be okay. She's strong. Nothing's gonna happen." Right after she said that, I heard one sound, which made my heart drop.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
