You let me climb the mountain
but I couldn't see the view.
Something blocked my sight.
Walls enveloped my mind,
I didn't want to hurt.
Holding the memories tight.
Hearing from you again,
it gives me some satisfaction,
that it wasn't all a lie.
Sometimes it's easy to slip
back into the past.
Setting feelings alight.
Yet linger does the fear
of what you did to me,
Of what made me take flight.
Climbing over the barrier
is harder than it seems,
but climb I must try.
