Rewarding Difficulty

It's safe to say I'm almost under your spell again

as we sit hear listening to the pouring rain,

talking in this beautiful spring sunshine.

Even though I can't see you, I can picture your face,

the way you furrow your eyebrows and stare into space.

laughing at the nonsense that escapes my lips.

It reminds me of old times that were joyfully bliss,

the way you mix text language with full words being a miss;

and the way I add too many letters to my words.

But there is still regret that hinders this progress,

it's almost impossible to tidy this evergrowing mess.

How long can we pretend?

Perhaps my difficulty will be rewarding.
