Mermaid Corgi- Chapter 1

Maple the corgi was rolling around in the warm sand. She felt the sun on her back. "This is the life" she  announced to her brother, Petal. Petal didn't respond, instead coming over and lying next to Maple. The sky was starting to become cloudy. "Maple, should we go back in?" Petal tilted his head. Petal gave him a look. "No! Why would we go back in? Just because there are a few clouds? When has that ever stopped us?" She turned away and looked into the ocean. Petal padded around nervously. "Maple, I'm going back in. I'll see you later." With that, he turned around and went inside the small house. Maple shook her head. It didn't surprise her that Petal was running away. Petal never really had the same adventurous spirit that she had. The water started getting choppy. She felt a cool breeze. Suddenly it began to rain heavily. Maple's fur was soaking now, but she didn't care. She stuck her head into the sky and allowed the cool rain to fall in to her mouth. She heard a crack of thunder and she jumped. Now she considered going back in. It was truly storming now. She turned around to go back inside, but as she began to walk away, a wave swallowed her and she was stuck in the middle of the sea.
