I cleared my throat and answered quietly. “Daughter,” she nodded at that and looked to Damien next. He quickly identified himself as my husband and pushed the papers towards me. I looked down, reading small snatches and bits and pieces, but simply signed the dotted line. She took the papers back and after a moment, looked back up.

“She'll be in room 34, straight down that hallway, one of the very last doors on the left.” she gave us a small smile as she gestured towards the hallway to our right.

“Thank you,” I muttered, feeling Damiens hand on my lower back as he lead us down the hall. The long hallway was spacious with light colored walls, and a gray carpeted floor. It was warm, thankfully, and had a homey feeling which I was grateful for. It soothed me to know that, while there, I wouldn't feel as if I was trapped in some prison.

Damien stopped me before a door numbered 34. My heart skipped a light beat and I struggled for a moment to calm it; if Damien sensed any of my stress, he would take me home immediately. As I raised my hand to knock, I took what I considered to be a mental breath to prepare myself. Whatever happened, I would stay calm, I could promise myself that.

Knocking, my hand dropped and I waited in anticipation, the silence of the hallway seeming to actually matter then. A faint voice came a second later; almost to quiet to hear.

“Come in,” I sucked in a low breath as I heard my mothers fragile voice, watching as Damien reached over and opened the door. It swung open and, before I knew it, I was starting at the thin form of my mother, who sat curled up on her bed. Clothed in a thick, white robe, she had her knees pulled up to her chest and her stick thin arms wrapped around them. She didn't look up immediately, staring down at her hands. Everything about her screamed small and fragile, breakable even. Ever since my fathers death, she had steadily been losing weight, but it was obvious that, after my disappearance, it had become increasingly worse.

The faint pang to my stomach was obviously from guilt.

“Mom?” my voice was hesitant. Her examination of her nails paused briefly before, to my utter surprise, she simply shook her head and continued. She didn't believe it was really me.

“Mom,” I insisted more strongly this time, taking a small step into the room, feeling a new sense of determination. She stopped, hand falling back onto the bed, and slowly, her head and eyes rose to meet mine.

Eyes, a lot like my own, stared at me searchingly. I felt the look pierce through my completely as she raked her gaze over my form, stopping briefly at my enlarged stomach before returning to my face. I gripped Damien's hand tightly as our eyes met. Unrecognizable emotions swirled around in hers while I worked to keep mine sincere.

“M... Mallory?” her voice was low and scratchy, but just as shaky as the rest of her form. I nodded as the fear and mild excitement rose inside my stomach; I knew her next reaction would determine everything. I held my breath as her eyes searched over me once again before stopping on Damien and then jumping right back to me.

“Mallory,” she repeated, a smile suddenly stretching her thin face and lighting her eyes. I knew, then and there, that I could do this; whatever this was, and whatever was to come.

I could handle anything else the world had to throw at me.

Well, ladies and possible gentlemen, that is the end of Taken. I have a feeling you guys will miss it more than me, but I promise I will indeed miss this book.

I'm very grateful for all you out there who gave me tons and TONS of positive feed back with this, one of the very first books I wrote. I hope dearly that you all liked the story of Mallory and Damien.

I'm sorry, but no, there will not be a sequel. Let's be honest; what would I write about? I think it's safe to stop here.

Again, a HUGE THANK YOU to every single one of you; to those who fanned because of this book, voted, commented, and just read it in general. I loves you all like crazy! XD

Now, don't be too sad, because even though Taken is over, I have many other books. Like really... I have a lot of books right now 0.o Lol so, I would like to ask, if you enjoyed this book, to please read my others. The next book I will work on finishing will be Uniquely Hidden.

THANK YOU FOR EVER AND EVER AND I HOPE TO CONTINUE HEARING FROM YOU!
