She lay on a metal table, her slack clothing only just keeping her warm from the cold metal beneath her. She thrashed around, arms wriggling, helplessly trying to grab something, anything.

She was blinded by the bright white light above her, she squinted her eyes trying to make out her surroundings, head twisting and turning, she was scared, didn't know where she was.

Leather straps held her wrists, ankles and stomach. Her breathing out of control, she pulled and pulled to be free but to no avail.

Where was she?

Why was she here?

She heard the squeak of a door open from behind her and she quickly closed her eyes, holding them shut tightly.

"Miss Foster, I know you're awake." A low Irish accent sent shivers down her spine.

Footsteps walked around the table until they stopped just beside her. Her arm tensed as he got close.

Eyes still closed, she let out a small, scared, breath.

A cold hand, colder than the metal table, touched her forearm.

She immediately flinched away, her eyes opening wide like a deer in headlights. She tried to focus on the figure towering above her.

Sinister smile, dark brown hair combed back neatly with gel, a white lab coat. No doubt a doctor coming to examine her, he was unrecognisable.

"My, my, Eden, look at all these burns and scars." his index finger traced her arm, leaving a trail of goose bumps. "You'll definitely need to stop that, don't want my people thinking I hurt you." He faked a concerned face.

She continued to stare in shock, her blue eyes twinkling with plead. His own, brown eyes stared back though unreadable.

A few tears rolled down her cheek.

Who was he?

He leaned in closer, centimetres from her face and whispered

"I'll need you" he smiled.

BANG

I awoke with a sudden thud on the floor I had fallen out of bed again. This time I hit my head on the bed side table. I sighed staring up at the plain white ceiling, rubbing the bump on my temple.

Just another pointless dream that's trying to scare me, though that was a new face, never seen him before.

10 minutes went by of still laying on the floor and a knock at the door made me stand up. My bare feet padded over to open it.

A smiley nurse was stood on the other side holding a tray with buttered bread, and a glass of orange juice.

"Good morning, Miss Foster." She nudged the tray towards me.

I stared it, there's definitely something in that bread that'll kill me and that orange juice looks drugged.

"Uhh no thanks" I went to walk back to my bed.

"Eden, you need to trust us. We don't put anything in the food that will harm you." She put the tray on the floor and walked out wheeling a cart filled with more trays of the same meal.

I don't trust them at all, I've been here for 6 months already and I've been forced drugs and pills down my throat along with their disgusting basic food.

I walked over to the circular mirror that hung above my bedside table. My hair was long, dark and tangled. I pulled the collar of the plain white shirt away from my shoulder to reveal old burns and scars. I cringed a thought of the man in my dream touching them again.

I pulled open the draw and brought the hairbrush to my hair and brushed out all the tangles, tugging and yanking away. When I was done I stepped over the tray of food and walked down the empty hallway into the common room. It was 7:40 am and most people are still in their rooms, eating or doing personal activities.

There wasn't much in the common room other than two brown leather sofas that sat in front of a small Ariel TV, a tiny book case with old and outdated books and table and chairs. There were also board games tidied away in a cupboard but by the end of the day they're scattered all over the tables and floor. The room was filled with light, coming from the large barred windows.

I pondered over to one of the cupboards, my bare feet hitting the tiled floor. Gently pulling open the door I pulled out a deck of cards.

The only thing that kept me from going even more insane was a game of cards. But on my own, I don't trust anyone else.

I sat on wooden chair, organising the deck on a matching wooden table. They were bolted to the floor so they weren't thrown or anything like that.

Some patients walked by saying 'Hello' or 'Good morning' but I never replied. In fact I don't think I've ever talked to anyone other than the nurses or doctors. I can't trust them, they tell me lies and they'll use anything I say against me.

---

I knocked twice on Dr. Moore's office door.

A deep voice greeted me from inside. I opened the door and stepped in.

The grey haired man scribbling down on paper work waved his hand towards the chairs in front of him.

"Miss Foster, have a seat." He didn't look up from the paper.

I sat on one of two chairs that was across from his desk and tucked both hands under my thighs, basically sitting on them. It was reflex that I was trained to do so I wouldn't have the urge to hurt myself.

"So, Eden," he finally looked up, "the nurses have been telling me that you are still having some trust issues, is that correct?" He intertwined his fingers together and leaned back in his chair.

I didn't answer, whatever I say could be used against me.

"Miss Foster, in order to make you trust us I'm assigning you with a new psychiatrist" he stands up walking over to filing cabinets "He can help you with all sorts of therapy, your current psychiatrist is obviously not worki-" he was cut off

"No! Why? I don't need any more!" I blurted.

He sat back down, tiredly looking through more files.

"Eden, this will help, you need to meet new people. He's qualified enough and only has 5 patients. He picked you actually." Dr. Moore sipped his black coffee.

"Why would he choose me?"

I am pissedI spent a week or so writing 5 chapters of this and I accidentally deleted chapter 2 and half of chapter 3. So the update is going to be a long while, thinking of giving up already and I only just started.

Also! I haven't neglected 'You are my drug' the crime scenes take a long time to write and I have no creativity so thinking up of how someone died is a struggle lol.
