When The Twins Fight

"I know those looks. I know these looks very well. Alright, what happened to both of you? I assume you guys had a fight, is that right?", said Levi as he lowered himself down to their level.

The twins looked at each other from the corner of their eyes to see if one of them could answer him but apparently, Isabelle was able to beat his brother to it.

*FLASHBACK (but with narration)*

Isabelle's story starts off a few hours ago when both of the twins were running around the headquarters while Levi was out shopping for cleaning supplies.

They got really bored so they decided to play a game against each other and it was endless so they ended up getting themselves tired and sweaty.

From all the energy that they had in them, they actually fell asleep on the floor without hesitation and the care if the floor is dirty (oh boy, listening to that bit actually made me think that Levi would be rather...furious about seeing the kids covered in dirt).

Then, Isabelle was awaken from her brief slumber and decided to stand up. When she did, she didn't see Leon around so she decided to look for him. 

After some snooping around and asking the cadets some questions, she found him coming out of the mess hall with his mouth full.

He told her he'll be going to the bathroom while her, on the other hand, felt hungry when she saw her brother eating something and it made her stomach grumble.

So, she went inside the mess hall to find something to eat but to her surprise, she didn't find anything.

But as she started walking around for quite a bit (a few minutes or so), she remembered that she saved one sandwich that she made with me yesterday and it was kept inside a crate, together with my other food supplies.

Once she found the crate, it turns out the crate was opened and she thought her world shook beneath her feet as she saw it with her very own eyes.

She ran towards it only to find out that the sandwich, that she wished she hoped it was there, is gone.

She was surprised yet slightly depressed that her sandwich disappeared but in a split second, something came in her mind.

What if someone ate it? But who would do it if it's just there inside my crate?

So after some thinking, she can only think of one person: her own twin brother, Leon.

She thinks it's Leon because he was the one who came out of the mess hall with his mouth full and it looked like the answer is obvious so she decided to look for him.

When she did, she was frowning and brought up the missing sandwich subject to him. She even asked if he ate it but he was like "No, I didn't eat it, Isabelle!".

But Isabelle was not passing on that one so she was like "What?! But you came out of the mess hall with your mouth full! You must've eaten my sandwich without me noticing it!".

Of course, Leon started to get angry and starts denying that he really didn't eat her sandwich and just said that he only ate cookies with milk but unfortunately, Isabelle didn't believe his answer to be true or what and hence, at this certain point, is where they fighting began.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

Both Levi and I nodded throughout Isabelle's backstory and I think the pieces are already coming together in one piece.

But the question is, did Leon ate Isabelle's sandwich?

Levi looked at Leon with their eyes being locked on and said, "Okay, Leon. I have question for you so you better be honest with me, son".

Leon gulped from Levi's intimidated aura that is already present within us and I must admit that's it's also getting in to me too but in my case, I'm quite used to it.

"Did YOU eat Isabelle's sandwich in secret?", Levi asked in a serious tone but not too serious.

Leon looked at Isabelle in the corner of his eye and shook his head lightly.

"No, I didn't, dad. I didn't eat the sandwich I swear! I mean, how would I eat somebody's own food or meal in secret especially if it has something do with my dear twin sister! I'm sure you know by now that I always asked if I could have food or not! Because, I'm not like that at all!", said Leon with his voice raising each sentence and phrase.

Levi was taken aback from Leon's reply and not to mention I was pretty surprised myself.

'Wow, Leon is growing up', I thought as I listened through the conversation between father and son.

"Hmm, I didn't expect that answer from you, Leon. However..."

Levi's stopped his words there when he finally faced Isabelle.

"Isabelle, do you REALLY think he did it after all what he said just now? Do you think he ate your sandwich?", Levi asked sincerely as he looked at Leon.

Isabelle fidgeted her fingers as she felt almost suspicious of her own twin brother but before she would say anything at all, a loud thud was coming from the window.

All of us turned to the source of the sound to find that it was just a cat eating bread crumbs.

Wait, bread crumbs?

I approached the cat carefully so it wouldn't ran away and see the contents of what it's eating.

My eyes widened as I came to realize what the cat was eating: Isabelle's sandwich.

"Oh my gosh. I guess I found Isabelle's sandwich thief", I said as the three of them approached the cat as well.

Isabelle gasped and almost felt kind of mad but her expression only soften as she looked at the cat eating her long lost sandwich then back to her brother.

"O-Oh", she murmured as she bit her lip.

She turned her gaze back to her brother and tears began to form on her eyes as she began to feel slightly ashamed or guilty.

"I really don't know but...I'm so sorry, Leon. I guess you were right after all", said Isabelle as she sniffed.

Leon noticed her crying and immediately approached her without a hestitation at all.

"It's alright, dear sister. You don't need to feel bad about it, I forgive you-"

"No, it's not okay! It's just...I yelled at you and called you a liar! I don't know if I could ever be forgiven", she interrupted and wiped her tears.

Leon's expression fell as he watched his own sister sob in front of me.

Of course, he didn't want to bare watching his own twin sister at this state so he decided to give her a hug.

"Don't. Please don't say that. You already forgiven. See? I'm hugging you! If I didn't hug you, then I wouldn't have forgiven you", said Leon as he formed a smile on his lips.

"L-Leon", she mumbled and just hugged her brother back.

Levi and I just stood there watching them, having their moment and I can't help but let out a tear.

"You know, (Y/N), this reminded of the time we first fought", Levi whipsered on my ear so the twins wouldn't be disturbed.

I looked at Levi and just gave him a slight nod.

"Yeah, it does", I replied and kissed his cheek, "and in the end, we were able to work things out just like what the twins did at this very moment".

Levi finally looked at me and slightly smiled before both of us shared a loving and warm kiss without the twins noticing (they're still hugging at the moment).
