He jogs over to us as we pass the group. "Hey!" He says catching our attention that was already focused on him.
"Ladies." He tips his head towards Megyn and Rayiah.
"Phoenix, is your brother here today?" He asks, his breath fanned over me smelling of mint. I almost fainted.
"Um--my...uh....brother?" I ask.
He nods, showing off his perfect teeth. Lord it's too early for this.
"He..he's in jail." I say, Griffyn's eyes perk up.
"Again? We're about to go to state and he wanna flirt with the law? I swear this boy." He runs his hand through his hair, as he rants in his country accent.
"He's supposed to be innocent. We won't know til the hearing." I say, trying to give some comfort.
"Yeah, okay. Thanks Phoenix." He says.
I smile. "No problem, Griffyn." I strut away to my friends who are awaiting me. ----- "That's it? I'm expecting so much to be happening! You're not making any moves." Megyn's use of exclaiming was used to its max limit
"Yes that's it! What am I supposed to do? Walk up to him and say, 'hey baby let's catch a movie sometime?" I ask my voice dropping an octave.
"Yes! That's exactly what you do." Megyn repeats.
"We should take a breather." Kai says looking at us.
"Phoenix you should make a move. You only live once and I know it was hard for you to tell Zack your feelings last year," He takes a breath. "Just try, okay?" He looks at me sincerely.
I roll my eyes, before smirking. "Yeah, okay." Kai out of all of my friends actually had sense and that's why I appreciated his opinion.
Kai smiles, his black hair was formed by gel into a unique style that only fitted him. His golden eyes always sparkled as he spoke and was a big feature that brought people to him. "See problem solved."
"For now, watch she chicken out." Denny, Kai's girlfriend and close friend, said while drinking her milk. Her black curly hair was in a high puff, and her dark skin glowed.
"Not true Denny!" I exclaim, if the moment prevails, I'll do it.
"Okay, see that new kid over there?" I look over at a tall boy with long blonde hair.
I nod. "Go invite him to Courtney's party."
I look at her wide eyed. "The party we aren't invited to? The party I'm not going to?" I ask.
"Yes she is." Megyn retorts.
I eye her closely. "Bro, stop volunteering me." I say, clearly irritated.
Megyn ignored me. "Like I said, she going. Now go talk to the new boy."
I get up and saunter towards the blonde kid. He was on his phone scrolling through something. I inch closer and tap him on his shoulder.
He looks up and I'm met with the guy from yesterday.
