The Call of the Void- Chapter 13- Visualize a Monster

Start from the beginning

It hits him like a tidal wave. Eddie has seen this guy before. It's the guy from the restaurant. Is he... is he working with Kevin?

“You're allowed to speak you know. I told Kevin to hold off on the gag for a reason.”, blue eyes meet Eddie so kindly that it completely distorts Eddie's understanding of the situation.

“I've meet you before, haven't I.”, Eddie says. It's not a question.

“Briefly. I remember you though. You're a hard person to forget. All that soy sauce...”

“You didn't give me a name that time.”, Eddie points out, “Can I get one now?”

Seamus hesitates for the most abrupt of moments before saying, “I don't see why not. I'm not sure you'll like it though.”

“It's just a name.”, Eddie replies.

“Names have a lot of power. You should know all about that. You can be Eddie with everyone else or you can be Sly on camera. It's all about perception and power.”, the other man pauses, grabbing a chair from the dining room table and placing it in front of Eddie. He sits, hands folded neatly in his lap. “My name is Seamus.”

Eddie looks at him in confusion. “That name means nothing to me.”

“It should. I thought Kevin would have told you. I figure he told you everything. About me, about him, about Aleks...”

Aleks... Aleks! This can't possibly be the guy who Aleks is working for. This can't-

“Are you...”, Eddie stops, looking over Seamus.

“Finish the question.”

“How do you know about Aleks?”, Eddie asks. He doesn't want the direct answer. He couldn't bare it. It would push him into a state of uncontrollable rage that would put any of his previous outbursts to shame.

“I think you know the answer to that.”

No. No, no. This couldn't be... This guy stole his Aleks way from him and turned him into a killer? “You're...”

Seamus nods, slowly. “Hello, Eddie. I've been looking forward to meeting you. I feel we have a lot to talk about.”

“Fuck you! You're screwing over Aleks and you don't even care!”, Eddie shouts and he pulls against the restrain on his wrists that are tied behind the chair. “Fuck you, fuck you!”

Seamus just sits in front of him, as serene as ever, staring at Eddie as he pulls against his restrains desperately. “Eddie, just calm down.”

“I won't fucking calm down. Let Aleks go! He doesn't deserve this. You're only making him worse!”

“Worse?”, Seamus chuckles, “I'm making him better. I'm making him perfect. You and everyone else have been treating him like he's a freak just because you see his addiction as a weakness. That's what pushed him away to you and into my care. I see it as a strength because that's exactly what it is. I think I'm doing the best for him. You, my friend, are obviously mistaken.”
