Ameena wondered at the seemingly perfect balance between the tranquility and ominousity of the ocean as she stared through the window of her room at the Oriental hotel.

The waves rose to majestic heights at times and crashed just inches shy of the shore only to be replaced moments later by such serenity that one can't help but be mesmerised by the peacefulness that comes with it.

Is married life also as tempestuous as the sea? if so, will she find her own balance like it did? was she as strong as the rocks that takes so much beating from the crashing waves and yet, glistened proudly under the sun?...perhaps only time will tell.

It's been three days now since her wedding fatiha has taken place. She is officially Mrs Ahmad Mosood Abdulfatah, but the obligatory traditional conveyance of the bride has not taken place as she had stayed back for Nadia's dinner and conveyance two days ago.

Now here she is, her second time in lagos, except this time she is the bride and lagos is now home.

"The theme you've chosen, am afraid can't be met considering the time frame." said Mimi Okoye as she tapped on the ipad on her lap.

As the manager of the recently opened branch of the New York based events management and planning outfit, she had covered some high profile weddings including the recent one of Adamawa state governor's son and the daughter of an oil tycoon but non of them came close to this. The demands were so outrageous, not to mention the very little time at hand. It takes months to plan an event as grand as the lady opposite her was demanding.

"My son chose it and he had discussed it with his bride. If I cannot give him what he wants on his big day, whats the point in having the dinner anyway?"

"what I meant is..." Miss Okoye started.

"doesn't matter now, does it?...it really would have been a pleasure to have you work on my son's wedding but perhaps due to the absurdity of my demands we won't be able to work together. " she said as she rose from the couch at the Bumbles lounge.

This made miss Okoye hastily type some cryptic text on her ipad.

"I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding here. what I meant was, if you will allow us improvise, we can work something out." she said while smoothing out some creases on her short dress.

She  uncrossed and recrossed her legs to give her more composure in other hide the fact that she's panicking.
A wedding like this will be an asset on her portfolio. There is no way she was going to let it slip.

"I apologise for any form of miscommunication that may have occurred. Bumbles has been built on the foundation that no dreams is out of reach and we've been operating on that ever since and I am pleased to tell you that yours is no exception." she said looking straight at her client as well as donning the most beautiful smile on her face.

Alaja smiled. one down, few more to go

"Shall we proceed then?"

"Absolutely." replied miss Okoye with a triumphant smile.

As she exited the building into the waiting car, she reached for her phone and dialled a number...there was so much to do in so little a time.

she was to meet some friends in ten minutes and later in the evening, she's going to get the bride for her dress fittings among other things

As usual, hajiya adda has taken center stage in the wedding activities. she chose who should share a room with who and kept stopping by Amina's room and dropping some unsolicited advice on how to behave in front of "the yoruba people" as she puts it.
