Starting Over

Chapter 4

Faith's POV
It's been 8 months since I walked off the bus and away from Luke. I know the I overreacted and I have regretted it ever since. I can't even pick the phone and call him because I am so embarrassed. I mean, the man had literally just got divorced and I was upset that he didn't want a relationship. I'm such a bitch. Spring Break is coming up and I'm fixing to have a couple weeks out of school. Amy is flying out in the morning to Panama City to see Carter while the guys are there for their spring break shows. She has been trying to talk me into going but I'm not sure. "Faith, will you please come? It's time you talk to him and plus it's gonna be crazy fun." She says begging one last time. "Fine, I'll go. You are right, I need to talk to Luke. I'm just terrified that I ruined the chance for anything to happen." I tell her as I head to my room to pack.

Amy and I are in the plane flying to Florida and my nerves are making me sick. I feel like I could throw up at any moment. "Amy, I have no idea what to say to Luke. What if he doesn't even wanna see me?" I ask Amy starting to panic a little. "Girl, you will know what to say when you see him. Trust me when I say that he wants to see you. Every time I've seen him in the last 8 months, he always asked about you. I can't wait to see his face when he sees you." Amy tells me clapping her hands excitedly. I have one more hour to calm my nerves before this plane lands. Amy is right, I will know what to say when I see Luke.

I feel like the drive from the airport to the hotel is taking forever. Amy and I are heading to our hotel to change before we head to the beach to find Carter and Luke. We get to our room and I take my pink bikini out of my bag and put it on. I leave my makeup natural and take my hair out of the bun I have it in and leave it in waves. I grab my jean shorts and slide them on and we walk out the door. We walk the short distance to the beach and Amy instantly starts looking for Carter. About 15 minutes later, we find him and Luke playing beer pong with some college guys. Amy runs up and wraps her arms around Carter. When Luke turns around, his eyes meet mine and he freezes.

Luke's POV
I was out on the beach playing beer pong with some guys to kill time before the show. I hear Amy's voice as she runs up and hugs Carter. I turn around and see the one girl I never thought I'd see again. "Faith?" I say kind of confused. "Hi Luke." She says with a shy smile. I walk up to her and without hesitation I kiss her soundly. "I've missed you. I can't believe that you're really here." I say pulling out of the kiss. "I've missed you too. Do you have time to talk before your show?" Faith asks nervously. "Yeah. Let's talk on the bus." We tell Carter and Amy that we will meet up with them in a bit and then we walk to my bus.

"Luke, I'm so sorry for the way I left before. I should have been more understanding. I was afraid that you were rejecting me or that you didn't want me. I had only spent a couple days with you but I didn't want to lose you. I still don't." Faith blurts out as soon as we get on the bus. "I don't want to lose you either. 8 months ago, I was fresh out of a divorce and I was scared shitless to get into another relationship. All I have done is think of you and wish that I had you in my arms. Faith, I want this. I want us. What do you say?" I ask her hopeful. "I think that sounds perfect."

A couple hours later, I'm getting ready to hit the stage. "Good luck out there baby. I'll be right in the front watching and waiting for you to finish." Faith says with a wink. I lean down and kiss her and then we go our separate ways. I walk out on stage and see her standing in the front in her bikini and those jean shorts. My girl is hot. The show is going great. I'm singing any and every song that come to mind and taking selfies with fans. Once the show for tonight is over. I walk offstage to find Faith. I can't wait to spend the rest of my night with my girl.
