Starting Over

Chapter 3

Faith's POV
Amy and I went back to our apartment to get ready for the show tonight. Luke really didn't want me to leave but I promised him that I would come back. "How are things with you and Carter going?" I ask Amy with a sly smirk. "Oh my God! They are amazing. But, I mean, the guys leave tonight. Where does that leave us, Faith?" She asks making a point and both of our smiles fade. "Honestly, I'm not sure. Luke just got divorced, there is no way he is looking for a relationship right?" "I think before we start to overthink all this, we need to talk to them." Amy says as we start picking out outfits for tonight. I settle for my Kick the Dust Up tank top and my daisy dukes with my boots. I do my make up with a natural look and give my hair some beach waves. We look at ourselves one more time in the mirror and walk out the door.

We pull into the arena and show security our passes and they let us through. Not gonna lie, it felt really cool. We are walking towards the buses when we see the guys standing outside drinking a beer before the show. "There's my favorite girl." Luke says as I walk up to him. "You look hot." He continues, kissing my cheek. "You look pretty damn hot yourself cowboy." I say with a smile and a wink. About 30 minutes later, Amy and I are standing side stage while the guys get ready to hit the stage. "Y'all wanna watch from here or go down to the pit?" Luke asks putting in his ear monitors. "We will watch from the pit. See you after?" I ask hopeful. "You know it baby." He says with a wink and then kisses me. Holy shit. Luke and I had our first kiss.

Luke's POV
I just kissed Faith. I wasn't even thinking, it just sort of happened. I hope I didn't freak her out or scare her off. She walked off right after so I couldn't tell. "Come on Luke. Time to hit the stage." Kerri says breaking me from my thoughts. I strap on my guitar and walk out on stage. I start the show off with Country Man, and I look down to the pit and I see Faith standing right against the stage. I get a huge smile on my face and try to put on the best show I ever have.

I'm in the middle of  Country Girl (Shake it for Me) and I see Faith and Amy head backstage. I know that Faith and I need to talk about where this is gonna go after tonight. I'm not real sure what's gonna happen. I'm not 100% over my divorce yet. All I know is that I can't lose Faith. I finish up my song and make my way backstage to find Faith. I find her waiting for me outside my dressing room. "That was amazing! The best show I've ever seen you put on Mr. Bryan." She says with a smile and wrapping her arms around my waist. "Only the best for you darlin." I grab her hand and we walk towards the bus.

I help Faith onto the bus and close the door. We pull out in an hour and we still have to talk. "Luke, what is this between us?" Faith asks before I can say anything. "I like you a lot and I don't want to lose you but I'm not over the divorce yet. I can't jump into something right now." I tell her honestly and I see her expression change. "I have to go. Goodbye Luke."
