One.Last.Time

Mia's phone rang as she walked into the public bathroom "Storm" Harry said, Mia cringed at the name Harry called her, "Your next target is Jacey Ivy find him and kill him, as soon as possible bring us his dead body and a good deal of money will be yours as promised, you will get a message shortly giving you some information on him, thank you and goodbye" before Mia could protest he ended the phone call, she gripped the rim of the white porcelain sink and tried to steady her hands as tears welled up in her eyes "One last time" she whispered to herself "One.Last.Time". Mia walked out the public bathroom she had her hood up to conceal her face and dirty blonde hair, she walked around a bit waiting for the message to come through, a short while later her phone vibrated in her pocket, she checked the message, it supplied her with all Jacey's information including a picture of him he was a short blonde haired boy and looked around 14 or 15 years old he looked oddly familiar but Mia couldn't put a finger on where she had seen him before, she never understood why these people where considered a threat, the only thing she had to do was execute them never quite understanding why all she knew was that it was either them or her, she walked outside in the fresh spring air taking in a the fresh cool air before checking his home address, "101 iron Bristler street" she thought for a moment ,recalling that she had walked past there a few days ago it was close to her favourite coffee shop and her apartment, she hauled a taxi taking it to her apartment, upon arriving she flashed a smile at the taxi driver showing him her two fangs on either side of her mouth "drive away and pretend this never happened or I will be the last face you will see and trust me I know how to make your death look like an accident" as she got out the cab he drove off "one of the perks of being a vampire" she thought to herself, as she walked around the street she counted the door numbers eventually finding 101 she stared at the door "a huge black one" she thought, as she turned on her heel as she looked at all the other apartments she realised she lived directly opposite him "a perfect opportunity" she thought to herself "I will be able to memorise his daily routine from my apartment and know exactly when to strike". She paused for a brief moment then decided to go to her apartment and get changed from her black hoodie and pants to her normal clothes, walking into her apartment her pet cat Twisp greeted her Twisp was a black cat but had dyed fur with colours ranging from pink to blue and a turquoise collar, she rubbed his back, before walking to her dressing room she quickly got changed, changing from her hoodie and pants to a GORILLAZ t-shirt and ripped black skinny jeans she checked the forecast on her phone "slight chance of rain later" she thought out loud, she grabbed her denim jacket and threw a bunch of books and her laptop into her backpack picking up Twisp, she started walking to her favourite coffee shop, it was a quiet place a lot of the time the best place to write books and many authors visited the coffee shop just to do so, she usually sat in the corner of the coffee shop with Twisp next to her he was a behaved cat and would never wonder away from his place next to her side, Mia always wondered why, he wasn't unfit in any way and was perfectly healthy cat which was strange in a sense that he never left side she wondered , but she decided to dismiss it leaving him to lie on the couch while she sipped her coffee and scrolled through tumblr. Sometimes Mia would pretend to read whilst watching other people, Humans fascinated her to a great extent especially one Mia always watched, she seemed so interesting always reading books or doing odd things that would somehow fascinated Mia. The strange lady arrived late today Mia had started to wonder if she was coming at all until she rushed into the Coffee shop running over to the back of the coffee shop. Mia ordered her second coffee and picked up a book on human anatomy she read the book while sipping her coffee after she finished her coffee she called the bill and left, walking back to her apartment, she strolled up the steps and into her small lounge, it was tiny but good enough, it connected to her bedroom a small wall separating the two, a tiny kitchen opposite the living room and a door to her balcony, she walked to her wardrobe putting her hoodie and pants back on, she walked over to her terrace and leaned over the side taking in a huge breath, she loved the smell of the fresh spring air, She looked down at all the humans rushing off in taxi's and cars in what was known as the New- York rush hour, "it was always so busy in New York" she thought to herself as she noticed the boy she was supposed to kill locking up his apartment, Mia ran down the stairs stumbling out the front door, she watched Jacey closely, he started walking towards a small coffee shop a few kilometres down the street Mia followed him from a distance eventually reaching the coffee shop he walked in and sat down, ordering a large latte "easy" Mia thought "I will be able to poison him in a flash " Mia walked into the coffee shop feeling around her pocket for the poison pills that have served her well in the past . Mia sneaked into the kitchen and walking into the back she found a few kitchen staff "great she was going to have to take one of their clothes" she thought to herself she looked around for the easiest target eyeing a young blonde women "she will be perfect" Mia thought, she waited for a few of the staff to dwindle out into the coffee shop leaving only the blonde women she crept into the shadows grabbing the blonde women she put a hand over her mouth "Ooh you're a keeper" Mia cooed into the women's ear "what's your name darling?" Mia asked "Emma" the women stuttered "Emma! What a lovely name" Mia said ecstatically "Now darling might you know where I could get a spare outfit" Mia asked pointing at Emma's outfit "and of course if you don't happen to have any I would be delighted to take yours" Mia added delightfully "There are spares in the locker down at the back" Emma murmured "What a shame I was really looking forward to taking yours, but if so please show me" Mia said gloomily as she followed Emma down to the back, Emma opened a locker revealing a few outfits "Splendid! Now of course if you tell anyone what has happened here I will make sure you are dealt with accordingly" Mia said flashing Emma a toothy grin showing her two fangs on either side of her mouth as Emma sauntered out the room, Mia expression turned grim as she put on the outfit over her clothes walking out she grabbed the latte that the young boy ordered biting her lip as she slipped the pill into the latte watching it dissolve as she served the boy his latte "Here you go Sir" she said cheerily, she left watching him put sugar into the latte, she was dying inside she couldn't watch him drink it she didn't want to hurt him she didn't want him to die tears ran down her face as he took his first sip, She threw off the outfit running out before anyone could see her like this she was sorry she didn't want this she didn't want to kill people she ran up the stairs to her apartment, she locked the door behind her running to her bedroom she got into bed rubbing her eyes she didn't want to hurt people she closed her eyes trying to fall asleep her dreams where haunted by all the past murders she had committed she didn't want to hurt them she never wanted anyone to die! she was sorry! she woke up the next morning to Twisp licking her face "not now Twisp" she said pushing Twisp off her chest she got up walking towards her balcony to see Jacey she watched him closely as he locked up his apartment again, he looked a bit dizzy and a few seconds later he fell to the floor, A single tear streamed across Mia's face "I should just finish the job and get it over with" Mia said as she walked out her apartment checking for any security cameras, there was none walking over to Jacey examining him, she checked his pulse, there was nothing he was dead another tear streamed across her face as she picked him up and walked towards a small alley on the side of the building, she didn't know what she had to, Mia just knew she had to stop it. Grave after grave she was getting tired of burying innocent people she decided to resign she knew that there would probably be deadly consequences but she couldn't anymore, she called Harry "Harry the job's done come pick him up I'll be by Alley 2" Mia said she hesitated before carrying on "Are you busy or do you have time to discuss something?" Mia bit her lip waiting for Harry to respond, a few minutes later he responded "Good we will be there to pick him up shortly and yes Storm what do you want to talk about? If you want an increase we are happy to give you one, how much would you like?" Harry said, he was hoping that she wouldn't resign but he knew she would one day "Harry I want to resign, I can't do this anymore I don't want to kill people" Mia's voice cracked as she teared up "Please, I don't want this anymore" Harry sighed "Are you sure? You know of the consequences that come with resignation" Harry said, "Yes I'm sure, and I know of the consequences that come with it, I'm sorry to disappoint you Harry but I can't, not anymore" Mia said "Ok your boss will be informed shortly on your recent changes, we will be there soon to pick Jacey up, thank you so much for your services Storm.......goodbye" Harry knew it was coming he just didn't want to believe it. Mia walked around her apartment it was finally over she thought, she was free......
