7 Days

The Challenge

There is one secret I wish I hadn't confided. I knew I would regret it, and I did. There was someone I loved. I had known him for forever. He had never looked twice at me. He never once looked me in the eyes. What chance did I have with him? I was a simple commoner, and he was the prince of popularity. So what chance did I have? The one thing I knew was that I loved him, and he loved his girlfriend. This fact did not stop my best friend from telling me something that I had to do. We were at lunch, chatting, like normal, when a spark of mischief flashed in her eyes.

"What?"

"Promise you'll do one thing for me."

"Okay. Why?"

"Promise."

"Okay. I promise. Now what is is?"

She took a breath, and the ten words that would change my life spilled from her lips.

"You have 7 days to tell him you love him."

So the words were out. I knew I couldn't change them, and I had given her my word, which I did not take lightly. I would have to follow through, and she knew it. So I had seven days to change my life. Great.
