i pulled into the parking lot, hopping out of the car and making my way over to the shore. there were a few people at the beach, many of them being teenagers. i headed over to the boardwalk, pulling out my phone.

i glanced around, looking for jack, but he wasn't in sight.

i texted him, hoping to receive a quick reply.

claudiatihan

just arrived, be there in a few.

i waited for a few moments, until i had seen a tall shadow tower over me. i turned around quickly, finding jack smirking.

he immediately pulled me into a hug, chuckling.

"wow," he sighed as he pulled away. "you look even more beautiful in person."

thanking him, i blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. i glanced up into jack's brown eyes, examining his features. his tanned skin, bushy eyebrows and plump lips made him seem so unreal.

"so, uh, what do you wanna do?" i stammered, as jack stared down into my eyes.

"i don't know," he replied, looking around. "how about we take a walk, and then grab something to eat later on? and then we could come back here if you'd like."

i nodded in agreement. "sounds good."

jack and i talked about almost everything; childhood memories, biggest fears, and hopes for the future. little did i know that i'd feel so close to some guy that i had barely known weeks ago.

by the time we had finished our walk, jack and i's fingers were intertwined. we settled on eating in 'n' out, and walked into the fast food restaurant hand in hand.

"what are you gonna have?" jack asked as he looked up at the menu.

"whatever you're having." i replied.

the orders had been placed, and were ready in under ten minutes. i fished my hand into my purse, in search of my wallet.

"shit." i muttered, once i realized that my hand hadn't come into contact with my wallet. i looked inside, finding that it wasn't in there.

i looked over onto the counter, seeing that jack had placed one twenty.

i rolled my eyes playfully. "you're lucky i forgot my wallet, gilinsky."

"thanks for tonight," i said to jack as we walked out of the restaurant. "i had fun."

"my pleasure," he replied. "we should do it again sometime."

"we should." i smiled.

jack stared into my eyes, his smile never fading away. his eyes flickered from my eyes to my lips, and he slowly leaned in.

before i could return the favour, a voice yelled from afar.

"hey!"

jack looked up, his eyes widening. i became worried, and turned around to see what he was so surprised about.

"claudia?" kevin yelled angrily. "what's going on?"
