Chapter Two

Lolly's Pov

   I sighed as I walked next to Naruto. I missed the lovable blonde and all but I forgot how annoying he could be. Here we were just hanging out for a bit since it was their day off and he was spouting random nonsense about ramen. I actually contemplated buying him some just to shut him up.

   Just then Sai walked by and Naruto stopped to glare at him. Once Sai had given us one of his famous fake smiles he then moved on and I then gave Naruto a questioning glance. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders, "That guy is just a jerk. He will never be able to replace Sasuke! I don't care how good he is!" Naruto snapped.

   I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat and patted Naruto on his shoulder. I knew how important Sasuke was to him but I absolutely didn't like the Uchiha in the least. Not since he'd been popping up in my dreams all those months ago. Lately the douche bag would drop in almost every time I shut my eyes. However I felt for Naruto because we have both lost the bonds with the people very close to us. He smiled and then hugged me again, "I wish you would talk." He mumbled. I then patted his shoulder again. I wanted to but I just didn't know if I had it in me.

   We were just about to walk into to get food from Ichiraku's when Sakura suddenly appeared. I sighed because it meant that we'd probably have to go on a mission which involved me having to get Arra. The more I was around that kid the more I really didn't like her. She seemed like she was intentionally trying to get close to me for some reason.

"Come on and get ready for a mission." Sakura said as she put on her chakra channeling gloves. 

"Oh come on! I don't want another lame mission!" Naruto groaned. My shoulders sagged in agreement. 

"Lolly you're going to really be into this mission."

I looked at Sakura questioningly.

"We're going to back up Team Genma, they need help."

   Immediately I was dragging Naruto back to his house since it was on the way to mine. We were going to be ready in just a few minutes and then we're hitting the road and hitting it hard. 

Jinga's Pov

   Jinga's breathing was laboring as he pulled the kunai from his side. Blood seeped from his wound and from the dagger. This was just not happening. Beside him lay Genma who wasn't doing so hot either. From the angle that Jinga was at Genma was either dead or unconscious. Jinga seriously hoped that it was the second option.

   He struggled to get onto his feet but it just wasn't working. It felt as though his feet weren't even on his body anymore. Jinga snarled but suddenly blood just came right up his throat. He coughed it up and began to claw his way over to Genma.  After clawing only maybe a couple of inches a foot was planted into his back.

   Crying out Jinga's face landed right in a patch of blood stained dirt. He struggled around but it didn't help. Suddenly his head was lifted up and a kunai was put to his neck. "I've been waiting a long time for this." A familiar voice whispered. Jinga opened his mauve eyes and felt part of himself just die right there. Never had he expected him, ever.

Lolly's Pov

   I was seriously nervous as we were close to arriving where Genma and my old team were. While we were traveling Kakashi had filled me in on the whole situation and I wasn't feeling so good about this.

"So what's the mission this time?" Naruto asked as we leapt through the tree tops at a fast pace.

"Team Genma went into a small skirmish to help out our forces that were being driven back by Soren's forces. However apparently something went wrong and they didn't return when they should have. Furthermore all contact that we've had with them has been severed and none of the messenger hawks or ninja that we've sent have returned."
