I felt ridiculously happy celebrating New Year's Day with Carter, my new so-called boyfriend among Brooklyn House. It felt childish dancing and singing about a new year. I only did it because:1) Carter convinced me to(that boy was just way too persuading, no?) and 2) The ankle-biters were ferocious about not wearing a party hat. You don't want to get into a fight with little Shelby. Anyways, just before 10 o'clock, Carter pulled me into his room. He told me that we had to celebrate this year no matter what and he wanted me to see how the U.S. celebrated compared to the First Nome. I couldn't believe when the TV showed the Times-Square ball drop down. Carter also told me that the people who saw it live had to wear DIAPERS!! Oh my god, that is stupid if you ask me.

Today, Carter asked me out on a special date. I was wondering what it was. He took me on the 1 train to this awesome sushi restaurant. At first, I didn't know what sushi was but I ended up loving it. It's this roll covered with rice, and  then seaweed. It could be switched around. By all means, inside, there was a lot of different foods like smoked salmon and cucumber. It was so good. Then, we watched a movie. I'm not going to tell you what it was but I can give you a hint! The hint is...[drum roll]...it was NOT rated PG-13. It was also a new movie.

Finally, Carter has gotten over the case of doing well in Brooklyn Academy. I convinced Amos to let Carter spend his time at Brooklyn House for Certain Reasons:). Not gonna tell you why. Anyways, today, he took me into his bedroom. On his wall was a beautiful yarn portrait of us kissing on that beach in the Land Of The Demons. It was our first kiss and still was, as Carter described it, "...the best kiss we ever had..."although I believe that our most recent kisses were better and more passionate. We came up with this game called Tongue War where we kiss and try to get our tongues into each other's mouth while blocking them. Whoever wins would get to kiss the other person for a whole day and the other person couldn't kiss the other person for the whole day. Carter won 5 whole times. I never won.

Today started off as a wonderful day. I ate a whole plateful of bacon and toast. Everybody seemed like they were in a good mood. Then, Amos dropped the bomb. As I recall later on, he had said, "The Egyptians are now fighting with the Greeks. There is no reason to panic. The Greeks are holding up so far. Our enemy is none other than Gaea and her monsters and Set and his monsters. Like I said, our friends the Greeks are holding up just fine with their enemies and doing quite well if I should say so myself with Set. But, they are in trouble. As soon as we can, we are to report to the Holland Tunnel to hold up our defenses - rather, their defenses - who are in quite a bit of trouble as of right now." The whole room erupted into murmuring and muttering about how brave the Greeks were and about not joining the battle at all. But I opposed these rumors.

A couple of wounded, not too serious, since the battle of The Egyptians and Greeks vs. Monsters. I'm getting better with helping around the hospital. I can stitch wounds and rub medicine in to wounds. Even know how to insert an IV, although Carter laughed when I told him about the way i put it in. I don't think it'll cause serious damage to the patient, although I don't spend as much time around the hospital anymore. I think doctors and nurses alike try to keep me out of that disinfectant-smelling room.
