Chapter 3 Meeting
"This time make a funny face." Luke declared as he crossed his eyes and stuck his tongue out the side of his mouth. Gabriel had hooked his pointer fingers in the corners of his lips and pulled them down, his tongue pointed down toward his chin. I didn't know what I was going to do.
"Come on Trouble, we can't hold these poses forever. It will give us premature wrinkles."
So I did the only thing I could think of. I puffed out my cheeks like a blowfish and made my eyes go as wide as possible. Luke snapped the picture then began hooting with laughter. "I'm going to blow this one up and make it my bedroom wall mural when our home is finished."
I groaned, "No! I look hideous!" They both laughed and squished my cheeks with loud smacking kisses until I sighed and smiled indulgently. I heard the faint sound of a click.
"There," Luke showed me the picture that he just took of the three of us, "We all look beautiful in this one."
"Damn fucking straight we do! But then again, when don't I look beautiful?" Gabe blew a hot breath on his fingernails, then rubbed them on his shirt.
"Hey Princess, we are ready for the meeting now." Victor's head poked into the room, his eyes burning into my own with an intensity that caused me to squirm between Gabriel and Luke on the bed. Our selfie session coming to a quick close.
Luke rolled onto his side, crushing my right side in a tight hug. With his face in my neck, he called out, "Yes, oh God, yes! We're cooooommmmming!" Meanie sniggered with a snort before swatting my thigh to get up from the bed.
Victor rolled his eyes at Luke's antics while he stood waiting for me, his hand extended out to take ahold of mine. I happily went to my Prince.
Downstairs, I was pulled onto Victor's lap on the couch. Sean sat to our right and Silas sat to our left. North occupied a kitchen chair that was brought in. The chair faced backward with his arms resting across the top of the chair back. Gabriel sat on the floor next to Nathan, their backs up against the couch. Luke sprawled out on the floor like an upside down starfish. Kota was again in the accent chair with Owen perched on the arm of that chair.
"Let's get started, shall we?" Owen opened up the meeting. "First off, how did each of your families take the news of your engagement?"
I bit my lip, nervous to hear what all their families said. North spoke first. "Uncle understood what we wanted in life. He supports us." Luke raised his hand in a thumbs up then silently dropped it to the ground.
Gabriel cleared his throat, "Pam was thrilled at first, claiming she knew all along I wasn't really 'gay'." He used air quotes and let out a heavy sigh. "When I told her the full situation, her smile dropped and she replied, 'Oh, well in that case, I will not judge your bisexuality. Just be safe and use protection.' She ran out of the room and came back with a Costco sized box of Trojan condoms that she threw at me." Nathan squeezed Gabe's shoulder, then ruffled his hair. "Not the hair, you fucker." But they both laughed.
Silas shifted in his seat, "Charlie's good. As long as the Korba name carries on."
Victor squeezed my waist a little tighter. "I had my weekly dinner and tried to broach the subject. I realized that it will be best if I don't tell them anything. We can just tell them I eloped after the fact. Besides, I'll be 18 by the wedding. They don't need to know jack squat about me after that." He shrugged his shoulders to show his indifference, but I knew it hurt him to be treated like a commodity rather than a loved child.
"It's jack shit. Not jack squat." North looked at Victor annoyed. "If you want to be taken seriously, as an adult, then use real adult cuss words."
