The Ruins at the Depths of the Earth! Part 1

Start from the beginning

Sooo, Kakashi's staying with him (reading Icha Icha Paradise in his own apartment, nowhere near Sasuke) while I took Shikamaru, Naruto and Sakura on this mission. Of course, as it was, after all, in one of the movies that the three of them would have to catch the ferret, I didn't fret too much about it. It seems I was a little too laid back, because when my team noticed me not really doing anything about it, they just figured it was supposed to happen. They know me so well. :')

Shikamaru was, of course, slightly confused, but decided it was too troublesome and let it be. Clever boy.

Anyway, back to the present, Naruto had just badmouthed the ferret, causing it to scratch him...just like the cat did. Heh, Kurama's loving this. The ferret, after being subdued by Sakura, was put into Naruto's bag/backpack/thing, and we were now going to give the ferret to whoever the fuck the client was. We had to cross a bridge, and, unneeded to be said, Naruto ran across it and almost ended up falling into the river below. Sigh. Holding onto a plank jutting out from the hole he created in the bridge, he hauled himself up while Sakura lectured him about harming the ferret. Shikamaru then looked up sharply, then at me. I nodded.

"I know. There aren't any people here." I said. The other two turned to us with curious looks on their faces. Shikamaru voiced his suspicions, and they then all stared silently at the field before us, across the bridge. Of course, me being me, I had to say something.

"Sooo, nice field, isn't it? Lots of grass and....grass. Not to mention all the grass and...green..stuff.......................Okay, let's go!" I cheered as I went across the bridge, the other three staring after me with WTF expressions. Meh. Whatever. Naruto carefully stuck one foot out infront of him, and leaned a little on it, as if he was walking on ice. I rolled my eyes as he pulled back instantly as the boards creaked.

"Kuroi-chan, why can't you carry us across with your magic shadow stuff?" he asked. I gave him a quick grin.

"Sorry, Naru-kun. You know the rule." I said, and he nodded before reciting,

"Kuroi-chan's shadows/demons/Noblesse abilities are not to be used unless the plot calls for it. Times such as long distances travelling, crossing bridges, walking on trees or water, etc. are not exceptions." he said. I nodded. He then sighed.

"Well, I feel better knowing you won't jusst let me fall to my death, huh, Kurama?" he said, geting a gruff chuckle in both our minds in return. Noticing the sudden silence, I looked around, only to find Sakura and Shikamaru already on the other side of the bridge, talking about something or the other, while staring at a map of sorts. I urged Naruto on, and he made it across the bridge without dying ten thousand times over. Yay!

...What? I love him, but he's a ninja, he's gotta know how to do things like this! Hmph.

I got ready when we came across the ruins. The ferret in Naruto's backpack began to fidget, and I knew it was coming. I heard Shikamaru's voice over our awesome walkie talkies that we stick in our ears that aren't supposed to exist yet. Sakura, Naruto and I got attacked by these seriously huge ass monster iron looking dudes. I know how that sounded, and I wouldn't be saying it if it weren't true. Okay, maybe I would, but really, these guys were freaking huge!

One of them chased Naruto around, smashing all the rocks he jumped on, making him constantly be on the move. Same with Sakura. As for me, I was calmly dodging the iron dude as the cheeky son of a grater swung his morning star at me. Dumbass -_-

With Lucifer making dumb comments like 'so close' and 'come on, I've got a blender that's sharper than you!', I have to say, I enjoyed every second of it. Sigh. My demon servant, ladies and gentlemen, is an arse. I watched as Naruto punched the iron dude, but just got thrown back as the dude caught hold of his leg.

Meanwhile, Sakura was celebrating her victory of blowing up one of them with a paper bomb attached to a kunai. Sadly, that victory was short lived as another one came up behind her. Poor Sakura. (A/N: Well there's something I don't say everyday)

Naruto made a few clones and used his Uzumaki Naruto Randon' to get rid of one. He grinned cheekily as the iron dude stayed down, then narrowed his eyes as he saw a figure emerging from the smoke he left from the iron dude. I sighed, knowing he would end up fighting the other man, and quickly got rid of the iron dude infront of me. I saluted him as he went down, being eaten by his own shadow. If he had screams, they couldn't be heard, anyway.

I sighed, and got out The Jackal and Casull. (A/N: I know you guys've missed them :] ) Holding them ready, one in each hand, I waited, leaning against a tree as Naruto fought the guy. He was losing. Badly. The man hadn't even moved from his spot, and he had taken out Naruto's clones easily. They all poffed away, and he looked around for the real Naruto unil said boy came out of the ground, landing a hit on the ma. But, it came with a price; Naruto ended up being thrown through a few trees, and into a rock. The man looked surprised as he found he was bleeding from Naruto's hit. He glared at Naruto, who gazed back with equal intensity as he slowly but surely stood back up.

Naruto threw several shuriken at him, but he deflected all with a weird thing he had on his arm that looked suspiciously like the card holder thing you use in Yu Gi Oh.

Naruto engaged in a kunai-drawblade battle with him. His blows were all parried, and they met in the middle quite often. Naruto was distracted by Sakura's scream. He looked in the direction it came from, giving his opponent an opening. He thrust the blade at Naruto, but I intercepted, and nodded a 'go ahead' to him. He nodded and jumped into a tree, pushing off in Sakkura's direction. I sighed. "C'mon, let's go before Naruto starts bitching at me for taking long." I said. The man didn't move from his battle stance. I rolled my eyes and used his own shadow to transport him with me to where the others were. When we arrived, the man glanced in my direction, where I was leaning against another tree, and then took off after Naruto. They clashed in mid air, and that was when I saw Sakura being held by an iron dude. She was kicking and screaming, not any less of what I expected.

"Let me go! Hey!" I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, Sakura. Because the walking fork can understand you." I muttered, earning chuckles from Kurama and Lucifer. Sometimes I forget they're in my mind, Creepy. Scary stuff.

Naruto ranted, as usual.

"Damn it! Coward! It's unfair to take hostages!" he said, and the man smirked. It turned into a scowl, however, as the iron dude smashed his morning star right where the man was, just two point five seconds ago. Naruto looked up to see Sakura in a tree with Shikamaru, who was using his Shadow Possession Jutsu. I whistled.

"I can do that!" I cheered, and got 'not now' looks in return. Feh. Killjoys. Naruto used his Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu (Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, for those who want it to sound more epic) and a few hundred of him appeared. The man raised his short drawblade, triwled it in a sort of half circle, and it ectended, then got these aesome looking greenish flames around it.

"Sorry, Naru-kun. I love ya, but the thing he did definitely looked more awesome." I said, earning a 'Shut up, Kuroi-chan, that's not true!' from him. He and the man had at it for a good five seconds, his shadow clones disappearing with a few swoops from the man's blade. He had eventually had enough, and growled out his next attack, like the naive child he is.

"Rasengan!"

"Raging Thunder!" the other dude called out. Their attacks met, and they both struggled for dominance, until Naruto's backpack tore loose, and they both got distracted, causing their attacks to blow up in their faces. a part of the landscape was destroyed, but we could deal with it. Nothing unusual about exploding cliffs when it came to the Rasengan. They were both blown off the cliff, and I sighed.

"Naruto!" Sakura screamed. Geez. I know you're worried, but really? REALLY?

"I got them. We won't be back until I heal 'em properly, so you guys should go. Shikamaru, don't go anywhere near the damn iron structure. Okay? Okay." I said, then jumped off the edge. I barely saw Sakura nod before her face disappeared from view.
