"Let me go!" I yelled as two men tried to hold me down. One was holding a syringe, one held me down at the shoulders.

"It's okay. We're here to help you." The one with the syringe said.

No actually, it wasn't okay. My head hurt. My muscles ached. Pain ran through my veins. It felt as though someone hit me with a hammer multiple times or like I was just thrown off a cliff.

It hurt like hell.

I finally gave up trying to escape. I plopped my head against the pillow.

"That's a good girl," said the man who was holding me down. He let go of me and the man with the syringe took a hold of my arm.

"This isn't going to hurt, just relax." He assured me. The fluid in the syringe filled my veins and pain was no longer felt. My body went limp on the bed and I suddenly felt really tired.

"Get some rest and we will check on you in the morning." said one of the men. "I assure you that everything will be okay."

My eyelids felt heavy and the next thing I knew, I was in a deep sleep.

*****

The white walls of the room blinded me when I woke up. The pain that I felt when I woke up last night was gone, in replace of a pleasant numbness. I noticed an IV tube on my right arm. Drugs. I thought. There was no way I could feel this good without them.

I got up to a sitting position and looked around the room. There weren't many things in the room. The walls were a plain white and bare except for a small window in the corner.

Then I started feeling dizzy.

I placed my head on the pillow again when I realized something.

I'm in a hospital.

But why? I asked myself. Did something happen to me? I started panicking. What if I'm going to die?

"Don't be silly." I muttered to myself. "I'm going to be fine."

Right then, I heard a knock at the door.

"C-come in." I stuttered.

A woman was at the door.

"Hi," she said. "My name is Dr. Henderson. I'm here to ask you some questions."

Dr. Henderson looked... beautiful. If It weren't for the doctor's coat and the stethoscope around her neck, I would have never guess she was a doctor. She was tall and thin. She had pale skin and her long, charcoal colored hair rested on her shoulders. Her eyes stood out the most. They were blue but not sky blue or light blue. It was more of a dark blue, resembling the twilight sky.

"Why?" I asked in a sharp tone.

The doctor sat down in the chair next to the bed. "Listen," she said, her voice calm. "Someone found you in the middle of the forest, unconscious, with a gash on your forehead and a bullet wound in your shoulder. You were brought here and were in a coma ever since. You may remember there were more tubes attached to you the last time you were awake."

I shook my head. "No, doesn't ring a bell. All I remember was me trying to get the two men to let go of me." I gave her a small smile. And then it was gone.

"How long was in the coma?" I asked in a small voice.

"Nine months," Dr. Henderson replied.

"And, when was the last time I was awake? I thought it was yesterday."

She bit her lip. "Seven weeks ago."

I let the words sink in. About eleven months. I was barely alive for almost eleven months.

"Are you okay?" Dr. Henderson asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said. "Uh, what were you going to ask me?"

"Oh right. I was going to ask you if you remember anything. Anything at all. We don't even know your name. Do you by any chance remember?"

I thought about it. What's my name? I should know, shouldn't I? And then it came to me.

"Lauren. Lauren Olsen." I said.

"Okay, Lauren, is there anything else?" The doctor asked. "Anything from your past? Do you know who your parents are? Where they might be?"

I searched my brain for anything but nothing came to me. "I - I don't know. I don't remember." I said. This can't be happening. I thought. Why can't I remember? "I just- I can't-"

"It's okay Lauren." The doctor said as she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Your name is enough for now." She got up from her chair. "I'll let you get some rest. Let everything sink in. Maybe then, you might remember something else."

She was heading for the door when something came to me.

"Wait!" I yelled. "There's- there's something else."

Dr. Henderson spun around. "What? What is it Lauren?" she asked.

"Spencer. There is someone in my life named Spencer."
