My father opened up a new and improved building for his workshop. He recruited some old employees and some new.

I'm new.

I thought a job would be a wonderful new change in my life. I've never worked a day in my life! I even had my baths made for me.

So, here I am!

Awkwardly sitting in the waiting room with no idea where to go or where to start....or how everything is going to turn out.

I just hope I can handle it.

"Jung Hoseok is a man born and raised in Gwangju. He has great business experience and has a successful family too. Mother, Father, no siblings. I am acquainted with his father, Jung Mysung. Hoseok was recommended by him 3 months ago and now his son is transferring over here to work for me in my new workshop." My father enthuses as he paces back and fourth behind his desk.

I nod my head, listening closely with a hint of confusion.

"He's 23 years of age. Mature....Smart....Fun to be around....Positive...Funny..." He reads off a paper. "Young-like...Handsome...wow, he sounds like a good guy! I'm sure his father did not write this."

"If I may, father, why are you telling me all this?" I finally ask. "Do I need to know this information?"

He looks up at me. "Oh? Did I forget to mention, cupcake? You're going to be his assistant."

To a man?

Oh.

I let out a breath. "Understood."

"I hope you two can bond. He's around your age. I'm sure you two will have some things in common. And I expect you to be modest around him and kind. As an assistant, you must follow his instructions and not complain."

"I know what to do, father. Trust me." I state firmly, but as respectfully as I could.

"Alright, cupcake. I trust you. I have people setting up his office right now. I would like for you to clean up for his arrival tomorrow."

I nod. "Yes, sir."

"Excellent. That seems about it. Dismissed." He waves me away.

I was about to leave the room when he calls my name again.

"Wait, Emi." He jumps up from his desk and hops over to me.

"Yes?"

"How'd I do?" He asks, too excited.

I giggle. "You did great as always."

"Awh, cupcake, I'm so proud of you." He brings me into a hug. "My little girl...are you sure you'll be alright working here? The pace is fast, cupcake. Are you sure you don't want to work somewhere a little more calm?"

I hug him back tightly. "I will be ok, father."

He sighs deeply. "Ok. I believe you."

"Thank you for giving me this job, father. I will not give up. No matter what. I promise."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Tomorrow is today because today is a new day and not yesterday.

I walk into the building with my work attire.

Father had someone prepare it for me on my bed in the morning. I wanted to scold him for helping me already, but it was probably for the best.

I had on a plain black pantsuit with my matching black glasses. My hair was tightly up in a bun and very light makeup laying on my face. The only thing flashy about my attire were my glossy heels.

All the buisness women here wear things like tight pencil skirts and bright red lipstick. They looked really pretty, but I don't think my father wants me to wear that.

Besides, pencil skirts are super uncomfortable.

I had to wear one to a grand opening celebration and I had to stay in one spot the entire time.

Shaking some nerves away, I walk straight to Jung Hoseok's office to prepare his office for his arrival.

I open the polished wooden door and notice someone already in here.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry, sir. You must have the wrong room. This is Jung Hoseok's office." I stammer, clutching the door handle.

The man turns around with a hand on his tie, smiling slightly.

"I am Jung Hoseok."

I mentally gasp. "Oh! I-I'm so sorry. I wasn't aware you arrived already."

"Don't worry about it. I can tell you don't have much experience at all." He bluntly mutters.

"E-Excuse me?"

"It's not a big deal, really. I take it you are just my assistant." He cocks his head. "Am I correct?"

I nod my head. "Yes. My name is-"

"Soo Emi. Daughter of Soo Jae. Age 21." He interrupts. "I know. I've done my research. That's what experienced people do. I also know you haven't worked a day in your life. Even your baths were made for you."

What?

What?!

This guy is being serious?

This is the "fun to the around, positive" guy that my father practically cooed over yesterday?

"There are still unopened boxes." He points behind him, having a stone-cold stare on me that sent chills down my arms.

"I-I'll get that, sir!" I rush past him and kneeled down in front of the boxes.

I need to stop stuttering so much, gosh!

"How can you not be on time for a simple arrival?" He laughs a little too evilly. "But I understand why your father put you as this low ranking job. Just a pity employment, I'm assuming."

"We've only met and you're being such a-" I stop myself quickly.

Oh, my goodness.

I nearly just ruined everything my father trusted me with.

I have to be more careful.

"I'm sorry for raising my voice, sir." I bow my head, biting down my bottom lip to keep more unnecessary words from coming out.

Hoseok smiles. "Little assistant, you have to watch your mouth. You don't want your father to get a bad report about his dear daughter. Right?"

I tighten my jaw. "Right."

"Good girl." He chuckles. "Now get me some green tea and no leaves please. I almost choked on a leaf the other day and it was not a fun experience."

"Of course, s-sir."
